|Mitch Clendening||Old Family|
Hi Dawn! Thanks for your effort to document the Old family. I am descended from the related Clendening family of Ireland and Indiana.
You've probably been able to follow the Old family line back to John Old & Mary Ann Clendening of Miami County, IN. Until recently, I believed Mary Ann to be a sibling to my ggg grandfather, Robert W. Clendening (1810-1891). More recent research has opened up the possibility that Robert and Mary Ann were cousins, emigrating to Canada, and eventually Indiana, as part of a group.
There are several Old family members in Siria Cemetery, and that is also supposed to be the resting place of John Clendening, Robert's brother. I have a transcription of a newspaper article detailing John's drowning in Woodson County, and his identification (in part) by JH Old, in 1886.
Thanks again, and good luck in your efforts!

I have posted a photo of Clarence & Luriel Mathews stone and the birth and death dates are quite clear. You might want to add them to the memorial pages. Thanks.

Possibly, but I have blown up this picture of the stone for Thelma and Elma and I can't imagine where someone got a "Z" on Elma... there is not room on this stone for a "Z". I'll go look for you...

Somebody had entered a memorial for ZELMA who was born and died with Thelma and Elma! I am going to go look and if I find it, that means your great grandma had triplets who died.. sad and kind of unusual then, huh?

|Ron Wallin||thank you|
You are a gem!
If you are out there again.....I could stand to see pics of whom else is in that grouping. Her husband was Robert Edward Coberley. Then her daughter was Mary "Mayme" Coberley Clark. The husband Clark....I do not know his first name. There were no children in the Mayme Clark.
Does there see to be a Susan Goodman Davies anywhere around Manisa? Susan was her sister and my Great Grandmother.......I have no idea where they might be buried, but could be near her sister.....who knows.
But anyway if you are out there againg.....I would love to see who-else in in that plot.....maybe even a Rosena Messersmith McGee....my great-great Grandmother.
Thank you so much!

well, I only see 1 Randall though I had the names completely mixed on my photo list.
Stones next to Orrin Randall are:
Samuel Rundall Croyle mar 21 1881 1 M 12 D
Milton Croyle feb 18 1881 5 Y 7 M 27 D
Burleigh Croyle 1878-1937
I thought perhaps Rundall/Randall there might be a link since the stones are together.

Orrin Randall next to Milton Croyle & Samuel Burleigh. Orrin died July 8 1872, aged 45 yrs & 7 days. I have many in that cemetery to enter and upload photos. didn't see any other Randalls in a quick sweep of the photo directory.
cemetery: intersection of 210th & Kanza Rd. dividing road between Woodson and Coffey Co, so those is the intersecting roads for the woodson Co side, south of the road.
I do try to post directions with the photos. It has long been an irritation that you cannot update the cemetery location with specific info if you did not enter the cemetery record, so I try to add as a caption. if you click on the photo, the caption will display.
address is 1142 210th Rd, YC KS 66783.
GPS coordinates 38.01.29 N, 95.46.11W.
1/4 mile East of intersection of Kansa and 210th Rd. Best access from county line road - 1st Rd and US 75 - at Woodson/Coffey Co line. West 2 mi on 1st to Kanza (Woodson Co Rd on South)/Kafir (Coffey Co Rd on North). South on Kanza 1 mi to 210th and Kanza Rd. East 1/4 mile. Cemetery is unmarked on the South.
I included the address and GPS coordinates as my GPS seems to be off up to .9 degrees and that can be quite a lost afternoon! so the GPS gave me an address also, so someone could enter the address to have their GPS direct them.

It is my pleasure to leave flowers for your dear ones, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I have some Butlers that are related to my cousins by marriage, and I don't know too much about them. Perhaps you wouldn't mind dropping me a line so we can chat? The firstname.lastname@example.org email is the best way to reach me. Thanks, Lila
