Are you familiar with the Stateline Baptist Church, 1856-1900 It's People and Area Cemeteries Vol. II Washington Parish-Marion Co MS by E H Hines 1989? There is also another volume in the Washington Parish Library, maybe 2 other volumes. We copied some of Vol II and they made reference to the Grimsley family where Susan Cook married John Grimsley and there is a note to see the Grimsleys. Since we only copied the section of the Guy family that is all I have. The book I copied from is in the McComb, MS library. We will try to go to the library in McComb and look in that book maybe in the next week or two. I will let you know what we find. Maybe your are looking for will be there. Let me know if there are any other names of interest to you other than John I Grimsley.
Take care,

I was just at this cemetery today. I thought I had a picture of John's marker but somehow I missed it. I might can go back soon. I took one of Susanna's but I did not take it thinking I would post it. I did not know there was a request for it. If no one fills your request I feel sure I can get it before too long. Are you related? Susanna was married to Henry Guy first and had Lewis Guy. I am trying to find where Henry Guy is buried. If you can help with this I would appreciate it. This was a good find today. We were not even looking for this cemetery and there was Susanna. We had wondered where she was buried.

Horne transfer
I appreciate your thoughtfulness in transferring the memorial for #25745965 [William Horne in Centre Cemetery, Cherokee Co., AL.

However, I would have liked very much to discuss your reference resource for the name and especially if you have family connections.

You will see that he was my great, great uncle.

If you would like to visit the memorial since I have updated it, you will see that I have given you credit for an alternate name.

Thanks again for the transfer and for being the original creator of this memorial.

Is it possible that the EDIT I sent to you for #25745965 [William Horne in Centre Cemetery, Cherokee Co., AL] has been an oversight?

I would very much like to get my concerns resolved, if at all possible.

O'Bryen family

I noticed you contributed to 2 O'Bryens (Jackson and Mahaley). I'm compiling my family tree and Jackson is my 2nd GreatGrand Uncle. Are you also related to the O'Bryen line? If so, I'd love to get more information from you on our lineage. In addition, I'm not familiar with Mahaley. Can you give me more information?

Hand Cemetery duplicates
Sorry about the 2 blank messages. Please remove them. Thanks for all the Hand Cemetery transfers.

However, I cannot delete duplicates because I am not the original creator. So, I am going to transfer back the 9 that we need to delete. I will send a "delete" edit for each one after the transfer just to be clear.

Old Lynch and Hand Cemeteries

And lastly (really ?), please help me with my efforts to resolve the conflicts in merging "Old Lynch Cemetery" into the "Hand Cemetery" in Shelby, County Alabama. These two cemeteries are one and the same. There are only 12 memorials (8 duplicates) involved with this merger. I will gladly coordinate this merger and contact the 4 Find A Grave members who will be affected.

Don't let this lengthy message scare you off, your part is very simple and explained below. I am just another Find A Grave member, enjoying this hobby. I can do all the merging and corrections with the edit tabs. I happily accept comments and objections.

My plan is to delete the 8 newer duplicates in the Hand Cemetery and then move all 12 of the memorials from Old Lynch to Hand Cemetery. Since some of the duplicate memorials in the Hand Cemetery have additional information, flowers, photos, or links, I kept a record of all that information and will see that it is replaced.

When Old Lynch is empty, I will ask Find-A-Grave administration delete Old Lynch and add "AKA Old Lynch" to the Hand Cemetery. But, I have not had much success with AKA requests. I will also ask them to add the GPS information to Hand Cemetery.

The plan begins with deleting 8 Hand Cemetery memorials created in 2009. Since you transferred 5 of these to me, I can delete those but I will not do this without your permission since you are the original creator. I am suggesting that we delete the Hand memorial because the Old Lynch memorials were created in 2003.

I will delete the 5 that I now manage and send you a link to delete the other 3 if this is OK with you.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TELL ME IF THIS IS OK OR NOT. I will get the photos, flowers and links replaced.

For reference, the Hand Cemetery duplicates are Cox, Oscar Carlos; Hand, Arthur; Hand, Emma C; Hand, Nancy C; Hand, Thomas Julian; Roper, Benjamin F; Spain, Billy Edward; Thomas, Leathie Hand. (Yes, another member will need to delete his duplicate for Billy Spain also.)

Thanks for transfers. I did not expect that. I can fix these memorials in the Hand cemetery and transfer back if you like.

So far I have been through about 1/4 of my photos so there will be more edits. I took photos of all the stones the day I was there and will see what other details can be added.

Lots of Transfers
Thank you for all of your troubles I cause you with so many transfers. It is nice to find someone willing to enter the memorials in the first place and then pass the on to other people. Your efforts will not go to waste. I'll link all of your transfers together and then make trip to cemetery to photo the graves one weekend. I've just joined findagrave and have found many of nice people. I'm hoping by linking all my memorials together I can make contact with others searching my family.

Thank You Again
Paul Goodwin

RE: Pearl Marse Lokey grave
I am Stiles and Pearl's grandaughter. My mother was Virginia Lokey Franks. Your mom and my husband, Mike, hit it off like old pals many years ago at Uncle Lem's birthday party. Skeet and I email and I am tring to get down that way to see her. It has been far too long.

(I just signed up to add to Grandmother's info, but would be glad to do what I need to. I don't understand "transfer". I am 64 y/o with a brain damaged husband. It takes some time for me to understand things well. Please be patient. Can we correspond directly?
