Tombstone Inscription for Katherine Best
Could you transcribe what words are actually on the tombstone for Katherine Best found in the Sebastian Best Family Cemetery in Gaston Co., NC? I think it reads that she was 60 yrs old.

Thanks.

Her maiden name was Hawkins. I have that history back several generations, if you'd like to have it; or I would be glad to maintain her memorial if you'd like to transfer it to me. I am distantly kin to her.

St. Benedict's Cemetery
Thank you for adding Saint Benedict's Cemetery but you have the wrong city listed. It is in Belmont, NC - not McAdenville. It is on McAdenville Rd but it is in Belmont. Thanks.

John J. Howell and Nancy.
Dear Terry,
I tried to e-mail you, but both of my messages were kicked back to me. I am the great-great grandson of John J. Howell and his wife Nancy E. Sparrow Howell. Would you be kind enough to transfer their memorials to me? I would be most grateful to you for honoring my request. I care about my ancestors, but did not know where their final resting place was. I hope this message finds you well.
God Bless You,

Jeff H. Lovelace

Roy Franklin Long
Hi Terry. You uploaded photo's of Roy Franklin and Edith Abernathy Long's grave stones in Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery. The contributor who created Roy and Edith's memorials has moved Roy to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton where he is actually buried beside his second wife, Inez Caldwell Long. When the contributor moved Roy, the Alexis Baptist Church grave stone photo's went with his memorial. Because you uploaded them the contributor could not delete them from the Forest Lawn memorial. I have created a cenotaph memorial in Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery for Roy. Would/could you please delete the photo's from Roy's memorial in Forest Lawn Cemetery [memorial # 25087017] and upload them to Roy's cenotaph memorial in Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery [memorial # 114891399].
I hope I have not confused you with all of this, but by creating Roy a cenotaph memorial in Alexis Baptist Church Cemetery will keep a duplicate from being created and will alert others as to where is his actual grave.

Thanks for you help in this. Sue

Willie Keistler
Hi Terry,
Earlier this year I went to the office of Forest Lawn West for a location of the grave for Willie Keistler and they said they had no record. I was wondering if you ever had the chance, or would be able to call them for a location. I have looked on and off multiple times and have come across other Keistlers, but not Willie. There are probable over 12,000 graves at Forest Lawn and the office gets more and more irritable about photo volunteers asking for locations. If you can get the location, I would love to get the photo for you.

D & J Cloninger
Cloninger Cemetery
Hi Terry,

We see where you took the photo of The Cloninger Cemetery in Gaston County, NC. On May 30, 2009 We requested some photos from this cemetery. On June 29, 2011,

Chris tried to get the photos for us. This is what was placed as a problem "I am sorry but the fence/gate around the cemetery are locked. I thought I could jump over some how but the fence is fairly high. I do not know why they lock this cemetery...I've never heard of such a thing. How is anyone supposed to get in there? Good luck."

Do you have any idea how we could get photos of the headstones we requested, if they have it locked so people can't get into the cemetery? We live in West TN so we can't drive over there and do any research oursevles.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Willie Keistler
Hi, I wanted to look again at Forest Lawn West for Mr. Keistler. The last time I looked, they told me they had no record. But obit clearly states he is there. Nowadays, Forest Lawn West is not very gracious about giving out locations to photo volunteers. I was wondering if you would mind calling them for the grave location. I will be happy to go look again if I know where to look.

Hi,
I went to the office at Forest Lawn West and they do not have a record of Willie Keistler. Is it possible that he is buried at Forest Lawn East in Charlotte, NC?

Hi Terry:

I would like to ask your permission to use your photos of the gravemarkers of the Mason clan buried in this cemetery in my Ancestry.com public tree (my Maternal family descends from the same Mason progenitor). I will gladly give you credit for the photos!

Sincerely,
Nancy

Hoffman Cemetery, Spenmcer Mtn
I noticed you put a photo of the monument on the main page. I know you are so thorough that you would take all photos of a small cemetery like this one. Am I correct that there are no other markers in this cemetery? There is a photo request, otherwise I would just go over there, and take it.

Thanks

Jack

Terry,

Thank you ever so much for transferring the 4 memorials to our care. We have already gone in and linked them and updated our family tree maker. It's people like you who make Find A Grave such a hugh success.

Jackson Cemetery
Terry,

Are you the one who submitted Jackson Cemetery? Curious if you are, if there was any way to get inside the fence without having to go to someone else.
I know exactly where it is located, only a very few miles from my house. Have been by there several times, but was a bit worried about having to go on private property. I do know and realize that in NC all cemeteries are public domain even if on private property, but don't like to make waves about it.
I would love to finish it up if possible

Terry,

Thank you so much for transferring "ownership" of the Cloninger memorials. We truly are thankful for people like you who are helping to perserve our heritiage! We will be doing updates on the memorials shortly.

We are fairly new to Find-A-Grave but feel it is a very worthwhile tool for people trying to find their ancestors and lost family members.

Again, thank you very much.
