Carolyn K. Shearer
Arey family of PA
Do you have any information on a Margaret Elwood Arey, (1847-1930 Sullivan Co, PA), who married John Philip Walters? Her death certificate lists her parents as John Arey and Ann Powell, place of birth "Tamanqua" In the 1850 census she is living with a John Arey family in Wilmot Bradford County, PA, age 3. This John Arey, age 65, and hiw wife Margaret, age 59, seem too old to be her parents. Is she a granddaughter? Who are her parents?

Parent's tombstones
Glad to hear I was able to help you with my cemetery work! I had to take my name off and just put my initials, since our son has the same name and he was getting phone calls about findagrave.

Lois,

I've been to Edgehill about a half dozen times with Millan on my list each time and he was always elusive. I walked about a 1/4 of the cemetery and was calling it a day and just before getting in my car I glanced down and there he was.
Made my day too. Glad that I could help.

take care,
paul

Howey
Hi Lois - the stone photo shows Howey as surname, not Harvey or Howery, so that is what I used. It is on the base of the stone and repeated four times on each person, so I am using what the family must have placed there, several times. Perhaps it was changed later, but for Finda'Grave', I use what's on the grave. Let me know if you have anything else to add. Thanks, Bill Fisher

Made the requested Meeks family links. I'm definitely going to have to do some more work on the family links for Norconk Cemetery. God Bless

RE: Lena Jaikes Osmund
Lena was my great aunt-in-law when she was married to my great uncle Ed Busse. I'm 63 and remember her well. I do know exactly where she, Ed and son are buried. After entering the cemetery you turn right at the maintenance building. Follow that road to the opposite end of the cemetery where it bends to the left. Stop at the bend and continue walking straight past all the stones where you will find them along the dirt road (which is best navigated with an SUV ) . If you ever decide to make the trip, just contact me and I'll try to give you better instructions.

RE: Lurinda Brown Campbell
Thank you Lois for your message. Sometimes when I copy & paste the link numbers things get confused & I don't always catch it. I assume you meant that Matilda Julia Brown Ormsby was correctly listed as Samuel Brown & Martha Van Loon's daughter? Am I correct in thinking that Matilda & Lurinda had the same mother? Also, by any chance do you know who Samuel's parents were? Thanks again, Joan

RE: Marshall L. Patton
Added Marshall's middle name and death date. Marshall's wife and my husband were first cousins. Their mothers were sisters. Does that make us related? :)

Sorry, I don't know where she is buried. Here is what I do know:

The DAR does not list her birth date.
The U.S. and International marriage records has her born 1755 in New York.
The Family Data Collection Births has her born 1755 in Woodbury, New York.
I have seen her death listed as 9 Dec 1842 in some ancestry trees, but have found no record for this date.
The DAR has her death occurring AFTER 1816.
The Family Data Collection Births also lists her parents as John Tuthill and Temperance Smith. Thats about all I know of her.

Regards,
Shari

You sent a request to remove the duplicate greeting.
You will have to send the note to the person who put it there, not me.

I can't remove someone else's greeting.

Thomas Downs
Her name is Mary Schaeffer, I am going to see if I can get a copy of the obit from someone who does look up up that way.
I called that cemmie, if I remember correctly they were all nice, until they told me it is 40.00 per look up. And I told them no way.
I talked to Ora's son in law.
Ora married a Frank Hughes, they had 2 children-
Thomas & Margaret. My Aunt remembered my gram and her going to Mt Carmel to visit someone named Wilkenson, she thought there was some kind of connection. So I did alot of research on it and found the ladies obit which mentioned a son
Samuel Wilkenson jr, so I tracked him down. He verified the relation to Mary Schaeffer and give me dates of death for Mary and place of burial.
I need to give him a call, I think he told me Thomas is in NJ.
My e-mail is triton23 at losch.net

He was born 23 jan 1866 and died in 1939, both are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Kingston.
