Ostle and Holdaway in Oshawa

I can't find a Mount Lawn Memorial Park in Oshawa, however there is a Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby. (Whitby and Oshawa are side by side)
Is it possible your Ostle and Holdaway are in the Whitby location? I see you have Ostle listed as in the 'Apostles Garden'. The Whitby location does have a 'Garden of Apostles' section. I will check for them the next time I go to that cemetery.
Any chance you could ask the cemetery what section your Holdaway loved one is in? (It's a large cemetery and could save me some time) :)

RE: Oatley Marker in Abney Park Cemetery
No problem,

I was pleased to help, I am afraid that the site was very overgrown, and I cleared what I could to enable me to take the photo's:

I have six in total and I also have details of who is buried there:

I am going to email the photo's and plot details to you: You have my permission to use the photo's as you see fit, and I hope that they are of some use to you in your research:

Regards: Ray:

RE: Browns and Boyers in Greenfield Cemetery
if you sent SAC's they will be done as required by f-a-g, and in the time frames allowed by f-a-g.

RE: Browns and Boyers in Greenfield Cemetery
please send links and bios if you wish them updated. You do not need permission to add photos. If any one meets f-a-g rules of direct family, please send a SAC with your exact relationship, I am pleased to transfer direct family to direct family

RE: Browns and Boyers in Greenfield Cemetery
no. I can link, and you can send me bios to add. I transfer within guidelines. Directly from the rules: "You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request." If there is someone within guidelines send a suggest a correction for it with an EXACT relationship.

RE: Memorial 23891022 Nathaniel Hawkins Bullock
Jeanine....thanks so much for the info re: Hawkins Bullocks actual and virtual memorials. I have linked his son Nathaniel Hawkins to him. Thank you for doing all of this work.

I would be happy to send you my lineage from Hawkins Bullock directly to your e-mail address, if you would be so kind to supply it.

RE: Kimpflins in St. Bernards Cemetery
Ah - if she goes by the photo I took a few years back she will have trouble finding them. That big beautiful tree has been cut down. I couldn't get my bearings in there for weeks after they did that, and even now I still have to stop and think where a certain grave is... :)

RE: Kimpflins in St. Bernards Cemetery

I found Mary Eleanore's birth in the Summit County Birth records (they are available on Ancestry). I am very fond of St. Bernard's cemetery, as I have ancestors buried there, and I have photographed the entire cemetery. Over the years I have come to feel like I 'know' many of the deceased buried there, so anytime that I can add to their memorials I am happy to do a little research, particularly if it is a family that someone expresses interest in.

More on George...
George and Eva are listed in Akron in 1880 - the name is mis-transcribed as Kimpliz. Two children, Eva G., aged 5 and Frances, aged 2.

I also found Eva's death: 25 Nov 1914 in Cleveland. Birth was given as 10 Dec 1847 in Ohio; father John Helwig; mother not given. Informant was Jacob Weber, who lived at the same address where Eva died (maybe a son-in-law?). Unfortunately, burial only said "Akron, Ohio" :(

RE: George Kimpflin
Hi Jeannine,

I am not connected, but I've done a lot of work on families in that cemetery, so when you asked for the links to be done I was motivated to try and flesh out the family a bit if I could. You will notice that I linked all the rest of the family members that I have listed. I even located George and Frances' only daughter on the site and requested a link for her (hopefully that will be done soon). I found George as a widower in 1870 in Akron with children Mary L. and George. I found his marriage to Margaret Hanley in Portage Co. (24 Apr 1859) and his marriage to Eva Helwig, also in Portage Co. on 24 July 1871. Found two children born to them in the Akron birth records: Eva Georgia and Marie Eleanore. The latter is buried with the grandparents. At Eva's birth the mother's maiden name is given as "Helbrick" but I think that is a misread as it is again "Helwig" on the daughter's marriage certificate. It is possible that Antoinette Kimpflin, buried with the grandmother, is another daughter of George and Margaret, but she could just as well be a daughter of Jerome, born posthumously. Do you have a death date for Margaret? One would think that Margaret would be buried at St. Bernards, but perhaps she was not a Catholic and got buried in Portage Co. Eva does not seem to be there either.

RE: Boyers, Browns in Greenfield Cemetery
okay will do rest of the boyers and the Croyles. I don't live in Altoona anymore, but there are lots of people who would look for a photo request. I won't be back "home" till late spring.

RE: Boyers, Browns in Greenfield Cemetery
what Croyles? I posted any other Boyer on the list. The list I have ends about 1935.

RE: Boyers, Browns in Greenfield Cemetery
sorry, I read the dates wrong on the Martin that is there. It is who you are looking for, and it says husband of Mary, but no Mary listed, could she have re-married?

RE: Boyers, Browns in Greenfield Cemetery

Thank you for your kind words. My plans are to repair some of the broken headstones. I would like to repair the stones in the same way I repaired some in the Walling Randels Cemetery.
Next time your visiting this area stop by and we'll connect our dots and see how many times we're related..

Find A Grave Memorial# 45613863
Hi, Jeannine!

Yes, I know there are two memorials, both managed by me. The problem that I have is that the rules of Find A Grave state that you should not delete a memorial that someone else entered and, as you can see, two separate individuals "created" memorials for Nathaniel Bullock. It's a conundrum for me.....I'm grateful to both individuals that created them.

Anyhow, I am a descendent of Nathaniel Bullock, are you? You may e-mail me directly, if you desire more info.

Hi, I was up last week to the cemetery looking around and taking photos and couldn't find your people..I just got back now and still can't find them. I saw other Bullocks but I can't find yours. I have the cemetery book and as of 1995 when the cemetery was transcribed they apparently were there. From then till now I don't know what happened. I know I can miss someone but walking up and down the hill on all sides twice and still not finding them leads me to believe something happened and they are no longer marked.

Just wanted to let you know we put up the new sign today.

RE: Hutson Cemetery
I beleive I took the pictures of the Hutson Cemetery #3 on Feb 20th of this year. When you were there did you notice that the county had placed a sign that read, Able Hutson Cemetery. That cemetery is located across the road approx 450' in the woods. I believe the sign has been moved to the correct location. Maybe the county will place a new correct sign at this cemetery.
