RE: Kost Cemetery - Sjogren/Carlson
Thanks so much, Robert. I will likely have more as I continue to cross-check records on Find a Grave with my own records for people buried at Kost.

Niels Jokumsen Correction
The Nels you sent the correction for died in 1917, so he could not have been the same that came from Denmark in 1924.
Jokem Jokumsen came to America about 1903, and could be a brother to Nels. I am looking for a connection.

RE: Mathilda C /Lundquist/ Peterson
Thank you for writing back. I believe you are correct on the Peterson match for Mathilda- it makes sense with what little information I have on her. The only note I have in the family history book is that she died in 1927 (and the living next to her brother/dying in Almelund).
Thank you for your help in this.

RE: Links to Carlson siblings/Lundquists

Thank you for adding those. Per my Lundquist family oral and written history, her parents and two brothers and two sisters stayed in Sweden, while Eva, Ida, and Willie moved to the USA (I do not have the names of those who stayed in Sweden). Eva immigrated alone from Sweden to the USA in 1893. She lived with her sister, Ida, in Almelund, MN. Their brother Willie also came to Almelund. If I find out more information, I will contact you with it.

I see you also manage John Peter Lundquist's grave #36655724. I have a short bio for him if you would like to add it.

John Peter Lundquist parents are Samuel Peter Magnuson (b.5/13/1829 in Bexheda, Sweden) and Johanna Johannesdotter (b.9/7/1825). John Peter took the name Lundquist when he enlisted in the army. It was the custom in Sweden to take a different name when joining the army in order to prevent the frequent duplication of names in those times. He married Anna Lovisa in Sweden in 1879. They came to America in 1880 and lived in Minneapolis, MN for a brief time. They then moved to the Almelund area and stayed at the home of his wife's brother. In 1881, John Peter purchased a farm in Shafer Township near Almelund, MN. Anna Lovisa died on 3/13/1893 of consumption. They had no children.
John Peter married Eva Lovisa Karlsdotter on 1/27/1894 in Center City, MN. There were eight children born to this union.
On 10/12/1897, John Peter received his certificate of citizenship in the United States of America.
John Peter's sister, Mathilda Christina Lundquist (buried in Almelund- I can't find her grave online), lived next to his farm in Shafer Township. His brother, Frans Alfred, lived near him as well. (Frans also went by Frank- #75433727- it looks like you manage him as well) He had one other brother, Johannes, who also came to America and lived in Clarissa, MN (I did not find his grave either).

Have a great day,

Robert just wanted to let you know I've started working to update information on some of your Memorials. My wife (Linda) and I have been working on and created our Family Tree. Whenever we see a link on to a Find a Grave memorial we add the information in the comments. Linda's Grand Father was Peter Paul Streasick and I would like to thank you for the memorial you created. At the time I was in the Navy and we were out visiting in St Paul. Pete and Lena drove out from Michigan to see us and our Daughters. He passed the next day, heart attack. I didn't have a uniform with me and had to have a friend send it out. It was truly a great honor to send Pete off with a salute and honor his life. Most of the family are in the North Branch cemetery and Linda was telling me that her Uncle Leo would drive up there to take care of them until he passed. She was also saying that she has heard of what good condition they are now. Croughan, Szymanski, Streasick, and Stroysack are family names. If you see updates on them they are mine.

I sooo much appreciate your contribution to this Civil War Veteran's memorial.

Do you know if his wife Helen was buried in this cemetery as well? She does not have a memorial page and if she is one of us should/could add one and link them together.

Again, Thank you so much.

Thank you for the additional info. I know there often times was rounding up and down on years on markers. What I've done is added your bio info explaining the difference. Let me know if you don't think this conveys things properly.

You sent through an edit for a year of birth different than what is on his marker. Can you tell me what information you have showing it is different?

Kristin Lein
RE: Emil Aker LEIN memorial
Hi Robert Chudek,

It was wonderful to hear from you. I am new to all this ancestry searching, and am finding it to be so exciting.

On the subject of my grandmother, Ruth Isabel Fredeen Lein (Ruthie to us), yes, she did marry Lester Miller many years after her first husband Emil Anker Lein died at the age of 35. I don't know exactly when Lester and Ruthie got married, but I did know that she was older than Lester. I think Lester married Ruthie because he loved her delicious cooking. However, it sounds like perhaps she invented a new age for herself when filling out the marriage certificate to Lester! Eight years is quite a bit to chop off. I do wonder what the real story is behind that. When my father, Malcolm Emil Lein, was born on July 19, 1913, I believe that Ruthie was about 18.

Thank you so much for adding my grandfather Emil to the list of his parents' (Peter and Mariane Lein's) children. I know it would mean a lot to my father to have that corrected.

I appreciate all the work you must do to keep these records up-to-date. As a result, you enrich so many people's lives.

Kristin Anker Lein
