RE: MOZENA
Hi Nancy,

Avilda Mozena, whose father & mother were Joseph Mozena & Catherine Hickman, married my great grandfather Benjamin Franklin Howell.

I've just started researching my family line & what a great surprise to find you had some info on them, thank you!

If I can be of any help on the Howell lineage from the above to date, please email me.

Thank you.

RE: Nate Poling
We did find that Nathan F. (Nate) Poling died on Feb. 23, 1949 in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana. He was buried in Worland, Washakie County, WY. Census records show that he was born in 1858 (est) in West Virginia and married Maggie J. Harris in 1907. Hope any of this helps with your family research. Sheila

Hi, Nancy -

You are so welcome on the photos.

I haven't been on in awhile and noticed a discrepency in the notes on my great great grandfather Francis Marion Watkins.

Death reads as: Feb. 11, 1910, yet the below has him in the Civil war as 1961?

"Civil War Service: Mustered into service as a Private, Dec. 18, 1961, Co. I, 11th West Virginia Infantry; Wounded at the Second Battle of Kernstown (Winchester) on July 24, 1864."

I hope you reply because I have two other relative gravesites that I have searched and searched for and cannot find.

I am so sorry that I can't be of more help. This cemetery is very old, and not in good shape. I'm not sure who takes care of it.
The grass is cut, but a lot of the headstones are over turned, broken or missing. A lot can't be read. It makes me sad to see headstones that can't be read! But, these are crumbling apart. Our weather is very harsh, and I guess they used what was availiable back then.

It's nice when a Civil War vet can be remembered by his family. It's also nice to know that your Dau.-in-law's relative and mine knew each other and served together.
Best wishes,
--Charles Logston

P.S. In the bio, you don't need to give me credit or mention Dixon's King relationship to me. I need no credit. All of the credit goes to out veteran ancestors.

You may just want to phrase it:

Civil War Service: Mustered into service as a Private, Dec. 18, 1961, Co. I, 11th West Virginia Infantry, commanded by Captain Dixon R. King; Wounded at the Second Battle of Kernstown (Winchester) on July 24, 1864.

RE: Martha Chrislip
Do you recall about where in the cemetery she is buried? The Chrislips were easy to find since they were right by the road in the last curve. We were considering another trip up later this summer to visit our daughters & I could try to stop by there if we get time.

She is buried in a family plot with Orpha and Rezin. I will add memorials for Orpha & Rezin since I photographed them also. Please let me know if you want me to transfer those memorials to you. Also let me know if you want me to email you a larger (easier to view) photo of any of the markers.
