| RE: Pianko family There is no record for Diane E. Pianko at Greenwood Cemetery. Therefore I cannot post the photo. I'm assuming she is related to your family. Do you know who she is? Any help would be appreciated. BobAdded by Robert Harmon on Apr 17, 2013 4:15 PM | |

| James Furey Thank you so much for the additional Civil War information on James Furey. He was very fortunate to have survived this ordeal. Unbelievable all of the battles that this Regiment was engaged in. I will add more information to his memorial. He certainly needs to be honored for his service.Added by Judy Cain Bowser on Mar 21, 2013 12:02 PM | |

| Pvt Embree It is known he died in a Union army hospital in Memphis. According to a clerk at the cemetery at one time they had gathered all the remains of soldiers in one place. Names/rank where written on the coffins in chalk. A rain came that night causing all of them to become unknown soldiers.Added by Family Searcher on Jan 17, 2013 2:27 PM | |

| RE: Matalic, Garrison, Pendleton Hi Craig, Thanks for clearing that up. How funny that some changed the spelling of their name! I will notify Rob and ask him to remove his. He adds the names from my listing that is online for the Allegheny County Tombstone Project.
You and I were corresponding before about Holy Souls Cemetery that I photographed. I haven't been able to work on that one for a while, but we have duplicate listings for that cemetery. I'll have to get back to that one of these days, I've been busy with other projects. MaryAdded by The.Mentalist on Jan 09, 2013 10:55 AM

Shirley Willard
| Joe Stuntz - Little Joe Killsright Stuntz You wrote that Joe Stuntz was sent to a Government sponsored Indian boarding School in Indiana. Where did you get this? I cannot find an Indian boarding school in Indiana in the 1950s. The last Indian schools in Indiana were White's at Wabash and St. Joseph at Rensslear and they both closed as Indian schools in 1890s. Do you have the name and location of the Indian boarding school that Joe Stuntz attended? Please reply as I am making a list of all the Indian schools in Indiana. Thanks. | Matalic, Garrison, Pendleton I have added the headstones to your memorials, just wanted to let you know that some of these names had already been entered on F.A.G. You might want to contact the person who entered them already, since you have more information and ask him to remove his from F.A.G. Also, wanted to mention that you have Matalic spelled with a K on the end on some of these. The headstones have a C on the end of the name.
Do you know for sure if Horace Pendleton has passed away? I cannot find his name on SSDI or online obituaries. Please let me know. MaryAdded by The.Mentalist on Jan 08, 2013 10:21 PM

| RE: Thomas J Hall Hi Craig, ...just read your email and made the correction to Thomas' bio. Thanks for the insight, I hadn't known of the rank issue but it clearly makes sense.
So, if I may ask, why the 5th Iowa? What's your interest? Or is it all Civil War veterans?
I think my profile mentions that I live in northern California. My recent trip to Iowa had a singular focus on seeing my family. If, however, you'd like me to keep my eye peeled for CW vets out here, I'd be willing to do that.
Let me know.
