Paff--Pfaff family
Dear Judy,
My sister will probably pick up your photo request for West Burlington but I wanted to write you to see if your husband's ancestors are our ancestors. Ours changed their spelling to Paff(probably turn of the century). They were a pioneer Allen County, Indiana family. The old people Mary(Reiter)and Aaron Paff are buried in Cedar Creek, with some, Molly, w/o Christopher Bair and Harriet w/o John Bair in White City Cemetery, Spencerville, north of Cedar Creek. Others were Daniel Ellsworth, Andrew(AJ), Moses. We have pictures.
Wondering if this is your husband's family.

I checked the cemetery tonight. Unfortunately, there aren't any headstones on the plot.
According to both of their obituaries George Tefft died Oct. 20, 1906 at 53 years of age. He married Eliza Sarah Snedeker on May 5, 1879. Eliza died July 31, 1947 and is buried in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery.
I would think it is safe to say this isn't the Eliza Tefft you are looking for.

Eliza Tefft
I will try to go up tonight to check this out. I have a feeling this is Eliza Snedeker, wife of George Tefft. I will let you know. I will take the pictures anyway since I will be there.

Taylor Family
I decend through William, a brother of Charles. William married Julia Case in NY and moved to Hillsdale where they lived on Lake Wilson Rd. They had two daughters, Laura and Irma. Laura is my great grandmother. Laura married Elmer Donihue and had three children, Minnie, Leslie, and William Taylor Donihue. Minnie is my grandmother who married Lee Alger Baker December 12, 1914. Irma married David Lemon and had no children. Minnie and Alger had five children. My father was the middle child, Carl.

Taylor Family
Floyd Dewitt Taylor married Maude Lillian VanAllen May 19, 1898 in Hillsdale, MI. I originally thought they had only one child until I found the death record of Wallace Wayne. The only living child was a son Wellington Dewitt Taylor born 1899. Floyd's parents were Charles and Sarah Irene Marshall Taylor. Charles' parents were George and Sarah Highhoe who emigrated from England in 1854. Charles, one of 8 children, was born July 7, 1860 in Ontario Co., NY. Charles married Sarah Irene Marshall about 1878 and Floyd was born October 30, 1879 in Phelps, Ontario Co., NY.
Four of the Taylor children, Edward, William, George, and Charles came to Michigan. One moved to Ohio, Alfred. Three stayed in NY, Henry, Arthur, and Anna.

Wallace Wayne Taylor
Thank you for photographing this stone. I have the death record of Wallace Wayne Taylor who died April 21, 1904. The birth information listed is October 28, 1903 with death at 1 year, 5 months and 24 days. It is obvious to me that the year should be 1902. His father is Floyd D. Taylor, and mother is Maud L. VanAllen. The informant is L. H. VanAllen. Cause of death listed is measles preceeded by whooping cough. Bronchia pnuemonia is listed as a contributing factor.

I shall add this to my Taylor Family.
