Joanne Merrill Kartak
John Gilmore #100764503
Came across messages between you and YankeeGraver and can clarify the parents/grandparents of one of the many men named John Gilmore. This one, John (Cunningham) Gilmore was son of John Jr.and Elizabeth Cunningham, and grandson of John and Agness Gilmore of Kerrs Cr. VA. He is usually listed as John C. Gilmore--no proof of middle name, but rather a genealogist's identifier. John C. b. 1743 d. 1789 m. Elizabeth Wallace b. 1745 d. 1804, daughter of Peter Wallace, Jr. (Some Early Va Marriages, p. 105:)
John & Elizabeth moved from Rockbridge Co. to Jessamine Co., KY; buried John Gilmore Graveyard.
I realize the Gilmore bunch are not your big interest, but thought you might like to have correct info re. Elizabeth Wallace.

John Gilmore #100764503

You left a nice summary of John on his memorial page and I was wondering if you know of his parents. Are they James Gilmore and Martha Catherine Dennison? I have a John Gilmore in my family tree and his parents are the above and I was just wondering if this is the John?

Thank you!

Saundra Dowling
I just wanted to let you know that our middle son James Henry "Tank" Dowling (1977 - 2014)* passed away suddenly on Dec 23, 2014. I have added him to find a grave with a heavy broken heart as I never in all my worst dreams would have thought I would be adding my own son. Please remember us in prayers as we as a family have been hit hard by his loss. I would love to see 38 guitar/yellow flowers/tokens for James by his birthday on November 15th.

God Bless, Saundra

Mary, yes I know that both of William's wives are listed on his memorial. Please look at my request again. The change was to add a notation to the bio of his second wife Susanna Roberts' memorial, which I believe you manage.

ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

Charles Reo Barritt #31383340
Hi Mary

Thanks for all your work on the Barritt families. When you have time would you please link Charles Reo to his parents William A Barritt #10126678 and his mother Alma Walters Barritt 31366054.It also appears that you created Arthur "Cy" Barritts Memorial # 31378160 and Lloyd Barritt's Memorial #31378544, if you would link Alma and William to them also, I believe the William Arthur Barritt family will all be linked. Do you have any birth or death records that shows Lloyd was Lloyd Clyde Barritt? My grandmother Vera Barritt who raised me always called him Clyde.

Wes Hart
William Morgan
I think this William Morgan, Find A Grave Memorial# 52686635 in Shelby County, Illinois may very well be the father of our Permelia Morgan Hart and Hannah Morgan Sexton. I have them linked as his daughters for now. His reported age is maybe a little to young to be their father but I am thinking it may be off by a few years. William Morgan did marry Elizabeth Bobbitt in 1799, Grayson, Virginia at age 29. I am thinking that she may have been his 2nd marriage. He and his brother Daniel Morgan lived in Grayson Virginia and Whitley County, Kentucky before moving to Shelby County, Illinois. Also He and Elizabeth had a daughter Mary "Polly" married to Frederick Free Sexton, that would have been Hannah Morgan's Brother-in-law.
Let me know what you think.
Take care.

Dancing With Ghosts
Grants Pass IOOF
I saw your question to Wendy. The Grants Pass Masonic and IOOF Cemeteries are separately run cemeteries. They boarder each other with a narrow dirt road that separates them. They are both still active and receiving burials, although both could use some maintenance.

RE: Harvey Bancroft

I will be posting better Bancroft and Kinney photos today or tomorrow. On the left side of Polly's grave is that of Fanny Kinney who is the daughter of her and Sanford Kinney. On the left side of Polly's grave is a stone that has flaked and can not be read. It is the size for an adult, not a child. Could this be Sanford Kinney or do you know that he is buried elsewhere? If not Sanford perhaps it is Harvey Bancroft?

RE: Harvey Bancroft

It was afternoon when I was there and the Kinney stones were shaded by trees which overhang them. If I am out that way some morning, I will take some better photos.

Hi Mary,

Burton and Addie are also buried in this lot. Their names are not in the stone. I can remove the pictures if you like but that is the monument on the lot they are buried in.

Thank you,
