Martin Cemetery, Christian County, Kentucky
Hi Carl,
I just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be uploading photograph to Martin Cemetery in the next few days. You have done an amazing job of setting up many of the memorials there. As always, I will be researching as I upload so you may see several edits to add links and birth/death information. This information will be from death certificate mainly, but also census, birth, marriage, military, and other records.

If you see any memorials that I add that you would like transferred to your care, just let me know. I should complete most of my work in the next 2 or 3 days.

Thanks again for all of your hard work,
Debbie

Maud Nelson Edit
Hello, I sent an edit to list Fernando Nelson as her second spouse but the request lists him as her first spouse and would not let me change it. I just wanted you to be aware when you see the edit. If you have a way of listing Fernando Nelson as her second spouse, I would be grateful. These are family members. Thank you.

FAG Edit Processing Instructions

Are you aware there is an edit page? Most people are not. Myself, I prefer edits be sent this way because it makes it so much easier when you manage a bunch of memorials and the messages don't end up in someone's spam folder either. All you have to do is click one link at the bottom of the page that says approve, and it makes the changes to all of them.

How to get there:
Click on your own name. You do have to be signed in to see this.
Along the top, right under your name & FindAgrave member number, is a row of tabs--profile, messages, edits, contributor tools, and edit profile. If you have edits awaiting approval, there will be a number in parentheses showing in that middle edit tab, just click it and it will show them all to you. You can approve them or not right from here, with just one click of the button for all of them. It also has a drop down list so you can see ones you have sent, got approved or got denied. This saves a ton of time.

Check yours...researchers depend on these edits getting processed for parental and spouse links, corrections of dates, typos, etc.

RE: Hi Cousin
Ok, I looked at my records and you have William E Bone in the wrong cemetery as both he and Gasky are buried in the Bone Cemetery with my Comer and Foster family members. You have the two cemeteries mixed up. Bone Cemetery is located on Foster Rd in Woods Valley, Cumberland Furnace Tn and the other is on Little Barton's Creek Rd Cumberland Furnace, Dickson, Tennessee. He was the son of James Abner Bone and Pricilla Jane Laciter. James and Pricilla are buried in Sumner County TN. Priscilla was Rowan County, NC and James was from Lancaster, Pennsylvania James b. Feb 14 1757 and died 1856 Sumner Co. TN. Hope this helps. I put William there because he wasn't listed in the cemetery when I took photos of all the headstones prior to 2014. Gasky was there but not William

William E bone
I took a look at your memorial for William and you have the same dates as for my William which is wrong. It does look like we have a problem here because Gaskey Wallace is buried in the Slayden Cemetery and not in the Bone Cemetery where I took this photo. I am a direct descendant of them and will get my information on them and check your's to mine and get back to you.

I sent Linda and William a note and ask them to remove the photo from your memorial on William E Bone. Your William and My William are not the same. Your William is buried in the Slayden Cemetery by his wife and my William E Bone is buried in the Bone Cemetery. Your William does not have a headstone but his wife does. I don't know if you have a photo of her headstone or not as the cemetery is located on private property and one needs permission to get to the cemetery. When I am back there this summer I will go and take a photo of his wife's headstone and post for you if you do not have one. William's is marked with a fieldstone by his wife's. These are my ancestors too are they related to you?

William E Bone
The photo you have on your William E Bone is not located in the Slayden Cemetery but in the Bone Cemetery. I also have a William E Bone with the same headstone that I took of his grave. This is not your William E Bone's headstone. Gaskey Is buried in the Slayden Cemetery located on Little Barton's Creek Rd Cumberland Furnace TN

The dates do not match the memorial. I think this is Oma Curneal's son and not her husband. Thank you for your good work on Find A Grave.

Please consider removing the photo of the gravestone you uploaded to James Ernest Tipton's memorial (Find A Grave Memorial# 127988659). That photo is actually one that identifies his father's grave. Thank you for all the work you do for Find-a-Grave.

Ensign L. Bailey Pride
Hello. I recently read your update on Bailey Pride's memorial, and have been a bit emotionally overwhelmed, knowing that his remains were identified and will be interred with those of his parents. Since the bones were separated and sorted according to type, I thought it would take them decades of testing to figure out which ones belonged together. Are you involved in the service for him planned for 18 June, in Madisonville? If I was closer, and healthier,I would certainly be there!

Today is also the first time I have seen any suggestion that Bailey had a sibling. I saw that Frances is listed as a half sibling, on yours, but then it dawned on me that his parents had been married in 1910, so that wouldn't make much sense that he would have a half sibling born in 1914. I looked on Ancestry and found, from the 1920 and 1940 census, that Frances was the niece of Bailey's father, LB Pride, the daughter of his brother, Benjamin Davis Pride. I thought you would like to know.

I hope to hear from you, either on this site or through my email, noelani54@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Richard Bruner Smoot confusion
Dear Carl, I just sent edits to link Richard B. Smoot memorial#64320023 to his parents and his wife. BUT there are two gravestone photos on his memorial, one for him b.1870 d.1962 and one for his grandson Richard B. Smoot b.1943 d.1984. His grandson is the son of Malcolm Smoot (I can't find a memorial) and Mary Louise Smoot memorial#71039641 Please also see her obit on her memorial mentioning her son(the grandson). The photo in error was added by member Linda Y. What's to do? Please reply, Lily

RE: Thanks
Carl,

Thank you for your kind words. My great-grandfather's family moved to Western Kentucky from the counties along the Kentucky-Virginia-West Virginia line. Muhlenberg was known for it abundance of coal and high employment rate for many years.

I too, have a love for history and family and your contributions have been priceless in my research. In fact, you are one of the volunteers that inspired my bio.

Also, thanks for all of your efforts to keep information on this site as accurate as 100-year-old records will allow. That is the beauty of this site. It allows countless volunteers to work together despite the physical distance between us.

Thanks for contacting me and please keep in touch. God's blessings to you--
Debbie

Would it be possible for you to transfer the memorial for Youthel Shipman (46508705) to me? This is my great Aunt and I would like to add her family information and obituary.

Thanks,
