|Diane Johnson||Gregory Hurd marker|
Beverly, I checked with Theresa at the Altus cemetery about no stone on Gregory's grave and she pulled the records. The records show that his active service time didn't meet the requirements of 24 months of active service for a stone to be provided. If you would like to have a marker placed there you could contact one of the funeral homes here in Altus to do that for you.
Kincannon Funeral Home - 580-482-1800
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home - 580-482-1233
The metal marker is about $25 and a small granite marker (abt 5X10) costs about $125.
Hope this helps

|Walking Dead||Charles Post, Sr.|
We've been out to search for your request twice now and still can't find him, because the library cemetery book doesn't show him in it at all. There's no sexton's office at this cemetery, so the only thing I can do is find the person in the cemetery book at our local library, then go out of town to this cemetery and find the block on the cemetery map that's posted on an old tool shed and go to it. Since he isn't showing in the book, we can't find him. We've walked the cemetery twice and still haven't run across him, yet. We don't know what Block or Lot he's in, so it's like searching for the last piece of a jigsaw puzzle you lost. tee hee
If you'll send me your email address, I can send you info, if we ever do run across him, as I know we'll be back out there again, in the future, until the winter weather sets in.

You posted the picture on Find a Grave. Is she a daughter of Fannie and Harmon Chiles? If so can you help me with this family? Janice Smith
Thanks so much

Beverly, I wanted to let you know that the headstone is still not up yet. If you want to call the cemetery, the number is 580-481-2281. I'm sure they can give you information regarding the delay or expected time that it may be up. Phyllis Snow

I show a "Hazel" located beside/near Natasha--would you like that photo as well, thought it might be her mother? If so, please put in a request so I will have a place to send.
Will get back to this cemetery this Saturday, 2/28. Thanks, :)

|Terri Lynn||Your Welcome|
I'm sorry the picture isn't that great. We had to lean against a fence and it is all grown up at that cemetary. We plan to go back out there with a weedeater and an axe and slingblade and get your families resting places back in order. And again you are very welcome Dear.

|Terri Lynn||I just saw your response.|
You are very welcome Beverly. I know how it is being far away from a loved ones resting place. Both of my parents are buried in Pensacola. I'm almost 400 miles away and it breaks my heart that I can't go visit on their birthdays, Mother's or Father's day. I am glad that I could help.

Beverly, I see that Rita left the message for you that she found the gravesite but the headstone is not up yet. I will keep a check each time I go out and when the headstone goes up, I will get a picture for you. I'm sure Rita will also be keeping an eye out for it each time she gets to the cemetery also.

The headstone is not up for Greg. I found the grave but did not take a picture because I thought you would maybe want to wait for a stone. I sent a message to the people who were trying to find it for you. I told them where it was located and if you want a picture of the grave I am sure they can get it for you. If not the next time I go to Altus I will take it for you. I live about 65 miles north of Altus and don't get down there real often.

|Jim & Phyllis Snow||Greg Hurd Headstone request|
Beverly, I have walked through the military section twice and have not found this headstone, although when I called, I was told that is where I would find it. Each time I have been out to the cemetery, the gentleman in the office has been gone but I will keep on until I catch him so he can take me directly to the headstone and I will get a picture for you.

Did you see that I put Billie Post on for you?
I hope it is ok. I noticed that their spouse was still living when I took the photo of the double tombstone.

|Betty Wilson||Billie Post?|
I saw your request for Billie Post at Fort Cobb Oklahoma cemetery and was just wondering who the parents were as I am going to Fort Cobb if I ever get the time to take a photo of my ex mother in laws tombstone and her name was Dixie Ray (Weathers) Post. She was married to Thomas Dorsey Post.
If I get over there before you get a photo I will take it for you. Do you have any idea where it is located in the cemetery?
