I am the greatx4 nephew of MPTD (1790 Wilson County, Tennessee - 1872 Peoria, Franklin County, Kansas) who married James E. Davies (1787 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina - 1862 Hopedale, Tazewell County, Illinois). I am interested in learning his (and her) ancestors. I have hit a "brick wall" beyond James E. Davies in my ancestral search. (The usual Davies vs. Davis confusion exists.)
Any clues will be appreciated.

P.S. I am visiting Princeton this spring on a genealogy trip May 16-18, 2011. Any information in advance will be immensely helpful.

I am the great grand-nephew of MDD (1822 Illinois - 1889 Princeton) who married Nancy F. (1821 Virginia - 1884 Princeton). I am interested in learning his ancestors; I already know his father John Robert Davies (1827 Illinois - 1871 Princeton) and mother Hannah Catherine Britton (1827 Staunton, Augusta, Virginia), grandfather James E. Davies and grandmother Mary Polly Taylor (1790 Wilson County, Tennessee - 1852 Tazewell County, Illinois), and grandfather George Washington Britton and Elizabeth Catherine Todd, but no further. I am particularly interested in his great grandfather James E. Davies (b. 1787, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and d. 1862, Hopedale, Tazewell County, Illinois.) I have hit a "brick wall" beyond James E. Davies in my ancestral search. (The usual Davies vs. Davis confusion exists.)

Tony Davies
John Robert Davies descendants
I am the great grandson of JRD, born in 1827 in Illinois, died and buried 1871 in Princeton. I am interested in learning about the descendants of his eight children, of whom George Ewing Davies (1868-1965) was my grandfather. Unfortunately, my grandfather never spoke about his siblings: Mary Augusta D. married Daniel D. Drum; Pauline Bell D. did not marry; Elizabeth Catherine D. married Jerry Wemmer; Laura Florence D. married William S. Colver; Sarah Edith D. married Frank C. Waddle; Ulysses Elliott D. died at age 2y.; John Britton D. did not marry. I am also interested in JRD's ancestors, since I know only his father, James E. Davies, and a few generations on his mother's (Mary Polly Taylor's) side. Definite confusion exists about the surname spelling: Davies vs. Davis.

birth and death dates
I recently went to princeton to the cemetery. I took pictures of the Campbell graves. I was looking for another campbell grave to take pics of for a request but only had time to look through one section of the cemetery. On Emma Campbell it has 1843-1896. I will add these pics as soon as I can. Also there was a huge stone for the family plot. took a pic of it too.
