I have some information about the burial of Nancy Hanks at the Luling City Cemetery. I would feel better not posting it on a public forum. Can you contact me with a suggestion for passing that information along, or would you rather I share it here publicly?

We may be related, but it would have possibly back 200-300+ years ago. One ancestry.com tree has your Steagall progenitor from England, while mine was from Germany. Probably the only way to know for sure is with DNA at this point on how far back we have a common ancestor!

|Faye (Blackshear) Reynolds||Monroe Kelley's parents|
I am a White family researcher and thought I'd let you know that Monroe Kelley's parents were Edward Kelley b. 1845-46 Ireland and Apeline White b. 1846-47 Lafayette Co, AR, daughter of Robert White b. abt 1806 Edgefield Co, SC or GA and Malinda Gordon. Robert White was the son of Vincent White b. 1767 Craven Co, NC d. aft 7/1851 Lafayette Co, AR & possibly Jane (mnu)
Edward Kelley & Apeline White were married 1/29/1870 Menard Co, TX. They are listed on the 1870 Menard Co, TX census, then on the 1880 Kendall Co, TX census (last info I have on Edward & Apeline). Monroe had one sister named Kate and 4 brothers. If this family is connected to you, I can provide the White side of the family as I compile the complete line. Feel free to email me at texastwin827 [@] yahoo.com and I will be glad to forward the info. Faye Reynolds

The death certificate of James Wesley Nichols states that his burial place is Salado. I guess it's possible that there was no written record at the cemetery, or that he is buried in another cemetery in Salado. Thank you for looking.

Good Luck. We have no record of his burial at the Salado Cemetery. His parents are buried in Lampassas and his wife in Okla. This has been brought up before. If he is buried here, there is NO marker for his grave site.
Suggest that you indicate no grave marker on his memorial.

I'm sure that I have the right James Wesley Nichols, since I have a copy of the death certificate and the informant is his son-in-law T.J. Poole. I also have him in the 1900 census in Lampsas TX with wife Mary A (transcribed as Marg A), son Francis, (who is my husbands grandfather), and his daughter Tennessee (wife of Thomas J. Poole). I hope you are able to find the James and Mary Nichols that you are looking for.

I just thought I'd let you know that there is another Walker in the Friendship Cemetery that you did not note on your list. My uncle by marriage, Floyd Walker, is buried there. He is Alvin's brother, so I'm sure he is part of your kin.

My Pleasure! I thought some of my fellow members had already done this cemetery but turns out only about 5% of the Speegleville transfer area was on Find A Grave so looks like I have a few hundred more to add.

I do appreciate the services that you provide with this wonderful web site. If you are turning him over to me, what are my responsibilities ? I live in Florida and cannot visit the cemetery on a routine basis.

This is an old headstone and extremely hard to read - from what I can see, there is no dates only an inscription. Sorry, I know when you are doing research you are looking for dates. I did look on Ancestry and could not find anything on Rodice.

I'm sure there's someone buried in that plot. I have a call in to a friend to see if he knows the caretaker or cemetery committee. I'm also going to our tiny library tomorrow afternoon, it doesn't have much but I'll look for James & Mary.

I see you added a picture request for Samuel Parker @ Forest Park Cemetery in Houston. If you would call the cemetery at 713-928-5141 and get a "SECTION" and "LOT" I will try to get the picture you want. This is a very large (225+) acre cemetery and without a location would be very hard to find.
