I saw your bio on Florence and I wonder if some of your contacts might know if her sister Della Letterman married D. Leslie Sanders, please?

RE: Source of plot numbers
I am not surprised at that at all. That fits in with my experience. No one in these counties ever seems to have came up with a system to map their cemeteries.

It is from the canvass and survey which was later published in the book entitled "Our People And Where They Rest," James W. Tyner, Maxine Tyner and Alice Tyner Timmons, on behalf of the American Indian Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma. 1969-1985 Vol III, pp. 26-28 (Library of Congress No. QE99-C5-T97) See their map(s) for use as a quick locator tool for graves here. The book is available online. If you need the URL, send me a message.

Many cemeteries do not have ANY system of records, such as the one in Westville. Stilwell at least has an index card system. Tyner's "system" is the only system at all for many of the cemeteries, I have found. My theory is that in the absence of an "official" plot system, it is a good way for someone to locate a grave they are looking for.
-----
Eastern Oklahoma District Library system libraries have this book in their reference system also; Tahlequah, Muskogee, Stilwell, etc.

Howard Gaffney # 32072778
Hello Lynn - I see that you often leave a floral memorial to my father, Howard Gaffney (memorial #32072778), and other members of his family. Did you know my father? He died when I was very young, so any information you can share about him would be very important to me. Thank-you. Ann

Book Family Tree
Hi Lynn - just got your information from my cousin Sharon. My mother was Ethel Lou Book, daughter to Theodore H. Book and Opal Inman. His father was Theodore Book, married to Ella Boucher first and then Nancy Almedia (Meadie) Caughey, my grandfather's mother.

As far as Theodore's parents, I know he was from Prussia and his name was Jno. Mary was from Holland and they married in Prussia. Two of their children were born in Prussia and the rest were born in the U.S. I have found a document that lists Jno Book as John Buch. I also found where one of his sons was buried with the last name of Bock! I cannot find grave information for Mary or John (Jno).

Please feel free to call me anytime at 314-409-9984 or e-mail me at tbuttry3@hotmail.com. I am in the process of putting together a book to send out to everyone with the information I have in the hopes that they will fill in any information or stories they have and send it back to me. Once everything is compiled, I will make a book for everyone who wants one.

Nice to know there's some more ancestors out there. I was just commenting the other day that it was so sad that great grandpa and grandma's children were gone and most of their children were gone. It's great to have another "Book" to add to the pile!

Take care!

RE: Theodore
Hi Lynn!
Yes, Tracy Buttry is my cousin. Opal and Theodore are my grandparents. My father's name is Hubert Gene, but he goes by Gene. Yes, Aunt Shirley is still living, and lives in Ramona Oklahoma. I don't have her address or phone number but I could get it for you. My dad has it and Tracy has it. We have found a list of John and Mary's children and their spouses. I also have found a few back on Grandma Opal's side, which is not easy to do. And I believe that Grandma Opal was an Inman when she married Grandpa, but we
have also run across the names McLeod and Riley so I'm not sure. I know her mother was Ida Jane Barnett, and she was married to either or both the McLeod and Riley. Was my grandpa Theodore your uncle, and if so, which of his brothers and sisters are your parents? That would make you my Dad's cousin. I'll be glad to share any information I have, and I know that Tracy will
too. If you would like to give me your email addy, I can give it to Tracy and she can contact you directly. Her mother was Ethel Lou Book and we just found out in May of last year that she has a brother that was given up for adoption. He contacted us, and he is the sweetest person. You can reach me direct @ sharonsue2000@shidlerok.net or sharonsue2000@yahoo.com. I check both frequently. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.Sharon

Theodore Book (Parents)
Good Afternoon:

Theodore Book, born 12/25/1857, is my great-grandfather. I am trying to find out any information about his parents or siblings. So far, all I know is his father's name was Jno. Can't find much anywhere about them, although I do believe he might have come from Prussia.

Do you happen to have any information regarding Theodore's parents and/or siblings. Anything would be appreciated. You can e-mail me at tbuttry3@hotmail.com.

Thank you soooo much!

HI Lynn
You stated you only manage your own family on here.... If you don't mind me asking how are you related to Lena? She was my great grandmother. I am trying to piece together my family tree. If you have any pointers to send me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Mary Agnes Ford Robinson
I am trying to connect the genealogical dots regarding my father who may be related to Maude V. Wheeler. Their mother may have been Mary Agnes Ford Robinson, who lived in Eureka, KS. I have names of additional family members on the Ford Hudson Robinson line, but am unable to prove the last name of my father (known as Buster Robinson, Bertrum Charles Thompson (married my mother under this name) or other aliases. Maude was about 5 years older than my dad. Their last name may have been Tatum or Tatman. If you have any information about this family, I would appreciate it if you would share it with me. Thanks in advance. Sharon Boddy

Find A Grave Memorial # 96241113
I forgot... the request for the link has been made on Raymond's memorial, but I don't know when it will be done. I do not know where his father and step-mother are buried. I know that they were in Little Rock when they died, but there are very few volunteers working in Little Rock to get the memorials online. I will have to call around and see if I can find where they are buried, then I will create memorials for them. Keep checking back for the links.

Thank you so much for sharing the photos and information on your memorials. I am a relative of her husband, however, I never knew them. I only discovered my great great grandfather's burial place within the past few months and have traced his children and grandchildren. I knew my great grandmother's family came from Lokoke County, Arkansas, but only a couple of her siblings' names. I was able to find them via Find A Grave, and have added this information to my ancestry.com tree. I have traveled to Cabot, Arkansas, where Raymond Gardner Brashear's mother, Sallye Gardner Brashears is buried, very close to her parents and grandparents. It is sad that she died only a few months after he was born. I have taken photos and made memorials for all of the family in Mount Carmel Cemetery. If you want to add this informaton to your tree, you can follow the links on his memorial. I have linked everyone to each other as well as I could. Feel free to use any of the photos I have posted on the memorials. I too believe in the power of sharing thru Find A Grave.
