RE: Cora Mason
Hi Ted,
Not sure why Cora doesn't show up on census records. Maybe she lived with her grandparents or an elderly aunt. I have 2 female cousins that went to live with elderly old maid aunts as it was one less mouth to feed and the child was a help to the elderly aunt. Maybe she went by another name until she left home, then changed it to Cora....Who knows? I don't subscribe to Ancestry so I have not looked for her in census records.

I was also curious about Cora's DOB as it was before the parents' marriage date, but since dates on markers are occasionally off a year or two, I figured it was something like that. Cora is buried beside her mother's parents.

Thanks for the second husband's name for Rosa. The notes my cousin gave me showed a Mrs Foster Escue but I had no idea who it was, so now I've added her and 2nd husband's memorials. I linked her to her parents.

Thanks so much for the help,
Sylvia

Cora Mason
Her headstone reads:
"Cora H Mason, daughter of D D & M F Mason
Feb. 17, 1864-Apr. 12, 1888"

My Mason cousin has it down in her records that Cora was their daughter also.

Ted,
Thank you so much for the kind words. I posted the obituaries for Japtha (I too, understand why he might have went by J.E.) and Elda. Back then they really knew how to write obituaries ! Thank you for forwarding the information on to me.
With Kindest regards,

Found the Article
I went ahead and added the entire article to the memorial of James C. McFerson. It was written in 1891. I listed the source on his memorial also, and did a bit of updating to the others. Thanks again.

The McFersons
Thank you so much for the information on the family. That biography is really great. Funny thing though, I found on-line versions of the book that the bio is taken from, and when I search the book for the name McFerson, not there, not in either Vol 1 or 2. So for now, I just put the web address into the memorials, to lead one to the bio.

Not sure if I should just cut and paste the whole thing onto the memorial or not, 1. copy laws, and 2. I can't confirm which book the bio came from.

I will look forward to digging in to the material when I have more time. Very interesting about the Barrickmans, will be fun to look at them also. Might be 2 sons, both a Jasper and a Joseph, or maybe not. Thanks again for taking the time to send the material to me.

James D. Nicholas
Thanks Ted, Would you believe I just now looked at James Dorsey Nicholas' memorial again and you are right, it should have been 1886. Thanks for correcting me.

RE: Enloe Cemetery
Hi Ted. Thanks for your inquiry.

Enloe Cemetery is in the far eastern part Moniteau County, approximately 2 miles west of Russellville and 1/2 mile west of the Cole/Moniteau county line.
The cemetary has a Russelville address but is located in Moniteau County.
