RE: Memorial # 141911750
Sorry I am not related directly to Willard. I am connected to him through his marriage to Emma W. Brooks Davis. Willard was her second husband.

I am connected to Emma through her third and final marriage. This time to Daniel Huffman Davis. I am related to Daniel.

Sorry I can not be of much help, though there may still be a connection between us as I believe there are a couple of Perkins' in my family tree.

Thanks for this memorial of my high school classmate. I have posted her Sr. year photo. I am wondering if by some chance you are kin to her. I see on her page that her siblings and father are there. Looking for an obit if you have one. It is our 50th year class reunion and I use the memorial to make a pamphlet for all of the ones that have passed and all of them as of this date have an obit. Hope to hear from you. thanks East Bank High 1965 class.

RE: Kelly Hart
Hi Debra,
Dotson-Simpson aka Kesler Cross Lanes Cemetery is a meaningful one for me. The location of my great grandparents' graves was a mystery to the family. They had been buried on the family farm, but a descendent had them removed. We did not know where they were re-interred. After a a few weeks of research, I narrowed down the likely places they might have been moved to and one of those places was Dotson-Simpson. I eventually found their headstones there, and also the graves of my great grandmother's parents. None of them were documented in any source, so they were all great surprises.

So, the research I did looking for my great grandparents meant that I turned up several sources of info documenting who was buried at the original Dotson, Simpson, Neff, Bailes, and Kesler Cross Lanes Cemeteries. Many, if not most, of the interments occurred as small cemeteries were moved as the Summersville Lake was being built close by. As I found burials not documented on Find A Grave, I created the memorials, hoping to help others since I was searching for my ancestors in that area. I remembering wandering about the Harts. Nancy Hart was a historical figure in Nicholas County, so I wondered if they were related.

My great grandparents graves were moved from several miles away, and their farm was not destroyed by the lake.

Update: I removed Hester Postalthwait Calvert that I had created before I found yours, I've linked the children that I have found so far to her and sent and edit for you to link to her husband. I'm still looking for the burial and information on the rest of her children.
Thanks for all you do. Sylvia

RE: Rodney Howard Given
Hi: I'm probably a distant cousin of Rodney's. I'm related to most of the Given families in Kanawha and Braxton counties. I never met him. It is interesting he formerly lived in St. Albans, since my late uncle's wife still lives there.

Dick McGraw
Fayette County McGraw's
Hi Debra
My grandfather, Norville Orton Mcgraw, was born in Graydon on Dec 23, 1881, died Apr 25, 1944 in Oak Hill and is buried in Fayetteville. He married Lelia Ramsey and they had six children, one of whom, Henry Paul McGraw, is my father. I know nothing more about my grandfather or his family or where they came from and am looking for help. Do you have anything that might help? Many thanks.

Hi Debra,
Our friend Jim (JEM #46846771) passed this past September and I am trying to inform those that left messages on his home page. Your concern about the duplicate memorial will be resolved when the family has assigned someone to take over the care of his posted memorials.
