Joseph Menard
Hi
I received to 2 edits from you for Joseph Menard in St Anthony Cemetery. Could you tell me the source of the information so I can feel more comfortable adding the middle name and Quebec as place of birth?
Thank You
Leslie

Hi,
I am a Find A Grave volunteer like you are. I am doing this to save you time and disappointment.
Sadly, there is absolutely NO cooperation from the San Luis Cemetery with Find A Grave volunteers. I was threatened with the police by the owner of the SL Cemetery, just talking to him over the phone. No volunteers have claimed a request in several months. However, there has been great success with the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society. You can request a photo of the grave stone(s) for whom you are looking by doing the following; and they will respond promptly:
Address your email to slocgs@gmail.com
Put in the subject line San Luis Cemetery Headstone photo
Give them the name and birth and death dates, or as much as you know. Ask them to send a picture of the headstone, and tell them how you are related or what your interest is in this person. They will appreciate that. This information may only be used in genealogical research. They will respond to you within a day or two.

If a photo exists, they will send you the photo as an attachment to email. They took photos of the thousands of headstones they indexed in 2009 and 2010. They photographed virtually all headstones that could be deciphered. Everyone, who was buried there before 2009-2010, and who has a headstone, has a picture of their headstone in the database of the Genealogical Society. The society will respond to individuals, but prefers not to send pictures in bulk to Find A Grave volunteers. They also have not made an agreement to download their data to the Find A Grave servers.
I will ask that the request be removed, now that you have a very reliable and quick way to achieve your goal. If there is any problem, please let me know.
As a reference here is the website for the index. http://www.slocgs.org/pdf-files/SLO-Cem-Location.pdf

I have checked the index myself and found that a headstone picture exists for this person.
Best wishes.

Hi, I totally agree with you, and have deleted the father in the links. Someone would have had to given me that link for me to have linked it. If you find out who the parents are, send me an edit, be glad to link them, Larry

RE: John and Samuel Faires
No problem John. You probably already know this but I found the grave of Clarinda Carr's grave out at Sand Rock Cemetery as well. It appears that after she died and in the early 1870's, her husband Seaborn moved his family to Shannon County, MO. His daughter had married a Faires and looks to have populated that area with The Faires name. There are still
Many, many living Faireses around the area Sand Rock Cemetery and the Glouster, OH area.

RE: Susie Freeburn
Sorry it is so confusing - I suspect your spelling of the name is correct given all the other information. the cemetery index was done by volunteers many years ago. Especially hard with those who had no stones.
good luck with your continuing searches.

I added several more of the Bowen family children as I forgotten to take the picture of George's headstone when I was there yesterday.
Found a Johnnie Bowen also. Best wishes with your research.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't read the information any better. If the memorial had not already been created, I probably couldn't have posted the picture. Wish I could be of more help. I no longer live in Louisiana or I would try and get you another picture. My Uncle is buried here and the reason I was in the cemetery.
