|Waterfall||RE: Laura, Pricilla & Mary Weikel|
Glad to help. It appears to be a rosebud on Pricilla's & Mary's individual stones. On the bottom of the monument for the girls, it appears to be the face of a Cherub. Sorry it's not that clear in the photo.
FYI: I'm not sure which side of the family you're working on, but did you notice I added new entries for 2 more of W.E.'s wives (on same monument) - Jamilla & Sarah? I don't think W.E. is buried here, cause I couldn't find him.

There are only 2 Benjamin Goodlanders in this cemetery and they are born almost 100 years apart. On the 1860 census Benjamin and Mary are living in Hartle Twp. Benjamin was born in 1793 and Mary 1796.

There is a J.P. Johnson in Block 7, Lot 9, grave 8
and a Hannah in Block 7.9.9
and a Johannah in 24.7.5 in the Blair, NE cemetery.
This site may be of help for plot numbers, parents, places of birth/death. It is the Blair Cemetery directory, part of a larger Library site http://www.blairnebraska.org/cemetery/cemetery.asp
as may this one, which has Washington County obits
I use both a LOT when working with the Blair, Nebraska cemetery, and we in the Gen. Soc. are constantly uploading new obits.

47370388. He married Ida, Ina, Bell Darnell in Jackson Co. Arkansas on Feb 9, 1919 and they had three kids, Loren Craft, Marvin E and Rosa M. When he died she gave them up to The Daisy Bates family. The girl went back to her but the boys did not. LC died in Kansas City as a Bates and never looked back and never talked to his grand kids about it. I have emailed one of them. We have this family researched back many generations and would love to compare notes. We, Earline Blalock and myself, come down through Secelia Prazetta Brazeal who married Claud Griffin and then Bessie Lorine Griffin married Van Hammell. My mother said his grandkids were very unhappy with the second marriage because she was so much younger than he was.

|I Remember When||RE: Lenora Wheeler Shrewsbury|
How nice to hear from you Charlene. Your house seems to have an interesting history! I don't have any special information on any of the people you've mentioned. I would suggest checking at the library in the research section. They have old copies of the city directories. If they aren't in hard copy on the wall, they have many of the really old ones on the microfish. The ladies at the desk can assist you in looking through them. That should give you anyone who lived there and what their business or occupations were. Also, take their dates of death and look in the microfilm for their obits, which will give more information. Another resource is the Jasper county records office on Lincoln St between Central and 2nd street. (Its the door on the south end of the brick building where the health dept is.) They have records of wills and probate records that you would be able to check on. The tax records at the courthouse would also have information on people that owned the property and paid their taxes over the years.
Hope this helps you. Good luck in your research!

|svh77||Henze & Biffer marriage|
Found a record of marriage for Louise Johanna Henze and Frank H. Biffer on 1/9/1901. There were married by W.D. Landis in Los Angeles, and the marriage is recorded in Book 108, Page 265, Clerk's File # 90. Recorded 1/19/1909.
There is also a record of 2 children born in Los Angeles County, CA to Biffer/Henze:
Frank H. Biffer 10/26/1909
Dorothy L. Biffer 10/19/1912
Hope this helps!
Added by svh77 on Dec 07, 2008 6:58 PM
You're quite welcome, glad to be able to help!
Frank is buried in the Los Angeles National Cemetery, and according to the Nationwide Gravesite Locator, there are no other Biffers at that cemetery. I also didn't see any in the immediate vicinity, but from what I've seen before at LANC, unless someone is literally buried in the same plot (like a spouse), you probably won't find them close by like in a civilian cemetery.
I might be able to help you with some of your other Californa/Los Angeles folks. I have access to a subscription database for CA that lists deaths prior to 1940....and there's a record for an Andrew Biffer who died 4/13/1909 at the age of 68 in Los Angeles County. Could this be your Andrew, or should I continue looking for a later date?
Feel free to contact me directly by email at my user ID (svh77) at yahoo. I don't post it on my page to avoid spammers...not that it helps that much LOL!

|Cathren48||Mt Zion Cemetery|
First of all, I want to apologize for not responding sooner. It only took a few months, LOL! I went into findagrave site and reread my messages and found you had asked me some questions. So here I am answering them now.
Mt Zion cemetery is kept up quite nicely.
There are no Harris' there but there are a few more Brazeal's. The other Brazeals that are interred there are:
Henry M. 1877-1947
Robert W. 1856-1925
Roy M. 1912-1977 Hazel I. 1913-?
Again, I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner.

The cemetery was well kept and I do believe there were other Brazeals there but I'm not sure.I don't know about Harris'. When I go looking for a grave, I'm kind of in a zone to get a pic of what I'm looking for (lol).
I did go to another cemetery yesterday. It was the New Salem Cemetery. I was looking for another stone but did notice some Brazeal's there, but I don't remember the first names.
