Thank you so very much. I am Floyd amd Rose's niece
and had it not been for you I would never have found where
my beloved auntie and uncle where buried at nor that they
had been buried together. I can not tell you in words how grateful I am to you.

I hope I got this to your satisfaction. I had not entered the one that was made by "Sharla". She did it and then transfered it to me without my knowledge. I know there were 3 more children, but can't think of their names right now, but I believe they have all passed on, but don't have the info. If you could send names and dates to me, I will be glad to ad it to the page.

RE: Julius Deak
Hi Carrie,

I believe ancestry picked it up from the actual VA website (see below). The details on the VA Grave Locator home page at http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/
states that you can contact them directly if there is some discrepancy.

So someone, somewhere asked the VA for a veterans headstone for him. You might ask them where they actually shipped it.

Julius Deak
Hello,
I'm an avid researcher so I've continued to do more research for Julius. I see that his wife, Barbara, died here in Settle in 1969. I cannot find any memorial anywhere in Washington for a Barbara Deak.

So my question is, have you found a certified death Cert on either person? I'm sure that we all would like to think that they are buried together but maybe not? My dad is buried in MA and my mom here in WA., so it got me thinking.

Julius Steve Deak
Hello Carrie and Allen,
When I went to Forest Lawn looking for Julius, the office could not find any record of any Deak. In doing further research I noted that the VA also has him at the Seattle Forest Lawn. I checked and can find no other Deak on record throughout WA. The VA only tracks Veteran Burials in Civilian cemeteries if there is a request for a VA Headstone. Do you have any shipping record of such because it would most likely tell us the Funeral Home? I have asked the office to further research Julius in case his records are misfiled, etc. I will let you know what they find out.

RE: Waunita Stockton question
Hello!
Thank you so much for the response!
To answer your question about Waunita, as far as I know she was not a vet, both of her husbands were though. Uncle Ray was in the Navy WWII and Uncle Minor was in the Army WWII. Ray JR was not in the military that I know of. Any reference to the military for Waunita would be through her husbands.

On another note, I am also doing genealogy research on my husbands side as well. I am about the only one that I have found doing so! I discovered that the family name was changed by Carl L Brooks, it was originally Bruck! His father Carl Phillip Bruck was from Germany. I have a memorial on findagrave for him and his wife. Would you mind so much transferring my husband family as well? I have included the memorial #'s below.
An interesting side note: My husbands grandma Ethel Brooks and my great aunt Bessie Zimmerlee were best friends. Carl L Brooks and my great uncle Zim Zimmerlee worked together on their ranches running teams of horses. And yes, I did extensive research to make sure that my husband and I were not related before we married! LOL

31418357 Carl L Brooks
31418358 Ethel Shobert Brooks
42152812 Baby Brooks
30853410 Carl Raymond Brooks
38762753 James Robert Brooks
42558767 James Phillip Brooks

Hope the weather holds for you! Although we have been getting quite a bit of rain here in Fossil (Friday 31). It may be a soggy mess for you in Prineville. :{ Wish I could help!

Thanks again and no hurry!

Family Memorials
Hi Carrie and Allen,
I am leaving a message for you in regards to my family memorials that you have in your possession. I emailed you through the email provided on Find A Grave but have not received a response yet so therefore am trying this avenue to reach you. I have a copy of the email message to this one.
I failed to add the memorial #'s of my family under your care. So I am providing them now so that you know exactly who I am talking about.
31469463 Alvira Stockton (Aunt)
31469247 Ernest Stockton (Uncle)
80286892 Donna Ernies wife (Aunt)
31534479 Waunita Stockton (Aunt)
31469250 Ernie jr (Cousin)
31469250 Wayne Dean (Cousin)

Also in my family are the Zimmerlee's, Abel's, and Brook's. Most of which are buried in Juniper Haven Cemetery and most of which I see that you have created memorials for. My family homesteaded Prineville in the 1800's.
If you would please transfer the requested memorials to me so I can make family connections for them, I would appreciate it.

Best Regards,
Althea

Hi Carrie and Allen,

Waunita’s second husband was Minor Shaykett. Her parents have a memorial on Find A Grave as well and should be connected. I have been trying to make any necessary changes and additions to my family line. Waunita is/was my aunt. 1 of 12! So it has been a daunting task for sure. Her parents memorial #’s are Hiram Stockton 15674182 and Verna McMillan Stockton 54850820.
Please note that Waunita and her brother James were of the same parents. However, Hiram was widowed from Verna and remarried my grandmother, Esther Mildred Serby Proffitt. Esther had two children from a prior marriage and then had 8 more with Hiram. My father being a product of that union.
If you could see fit and willing, I would ask that the Stockton’s that are connected to me be transferred over as it makes it so much easier to update memorials.
I understand your stance on this issue and agree with you on it. You have done so much that others would not have been able to do! I do appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping up memorials. On that note, I believe that I have more to add to my family memorials i.e. pictures, stories, family relationships and the like.

Thank you for your time and THANK YOU for the good work you do!

Tommy
Jacob Myers
I found a grave in Concordia Cemetery of Nancy M. Myers, 1860-1908. On her head stone it reads she is the wife of J.C. Myers. Could this be the wife of the Jacob Clarence Myers you have a memorial listed for as buried in Concordia Cemetery?

Penelton Heith Rogers
When Penelton died his body was shipped to Portland from California, so I guess I assumed that they were going to burying him with family. I'm not sure why I also put his brother in the same cemetery. I have removed them and will research further.
