|Dan Mines||Joshua Adcock|
Hello, I too am interested in him. There are trees on Ancestry and Family search which name his father as John Adcock b. 1700 Essex Co., VA., d. 1780 Granvile Co., N.C. and mother as Elianor Partee b. 1701, d. 1765. My reason for interest is that my G.G.G. Grandfather was William Adcock b. 9 Jan 1825 in Bedford Co., TN. On his death cert is stated father as Wiseman Adcock. Some have made the link to Joshua thur William. Do you have any info on this?

I'm so glad that you managed to find your ancestor.
About a year ago, one of the Find A Grave "bullies" tried to get me to remove him from here because he was buried in an unknown grave. As you can see, I refused--and told her that this person had spent many years on this earth and was a Revolutionary War veteran, and that he deserved to be remembered.
I've gladly transferred him to you.

Looks like you maintain information on the Sextons. I'm working on information on Marcus Thompson. It appears Marcus and Minnie had three kids. Some how these kids ended up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas area and later Minnie married Mr Bailey. One of the three Thompson kids was my grandfather. He appears to be named after Flournoy Sexton.

Thank you for your kind reply. Marjorie was born in 1919 and Donna June in 1924, but I only see Marjorie with her family in 1930. I believe that this has to be Marjorie's mother. Could you confirm or tell me anything you might know. Thanks so much. Pat FLANIGAN JORDAN

# 39632139 Hi, Bonnie, I am wondering if you are related to the Bennett/Brown family. I know that my father's first wife, Marjorie Brown (who died while they were married), listed Pearl Bennett and Howard Brown as parents on her marriage application. Everyplace else I see James H. Brown as her father (including Census of 1930). I know that in itself is not usually significant, but what bothers me is that I do not see any siblings listed in the 1930 Census with Marjorie. Marjorie is resting there with the Brown's (referring to the photo that you took). My dad and Marjorie named their daughter Agretta Ann. Pearl raised Agretta after Marjorie died.

While I was not able to provide you with a headstone picture as requested, I was able to locate a death certificate. I hope this helps in your search.
Memorial Park Cemetery where the burial is supposed to be is an extremely large cemetery (41,000+ interments). Staff at the cemetery will only provide grave locations to family members. Please contact the office to obtain plot information and add it to the memorial page and/or your photo request, so the volunteer photographer can find the grave marker for you. The office can be reached at 901-767-8930 or 888-943-7275. Ask for Paul Campbell. Once you obtain this information, please resubmit your photo request.

Thank you Bonnie! We walked the cemetery several times and I can't remember if we couldn't find this one, or missed it. I really appreciate it!

I want to apologize to you, Bonnie, for my comments about their wedding picture. It is ideal. That is your memory of them and rightly so. I will post up their picture from our church directory, also. Know that they are in Heaven together. Wishing you a blessed Christmas, Bonnie.
