William Riley
I was wondering how you were related to William Riley. I have added his parents and his siblings to his memorial. I was wondering if you had any information on Sarah J. Riley maiden name. I had a family paper that I had questioned saying it was Sewell, I read William's bio and it said it was Fairbanks. I since got an e-mail saying her last name was Forbis. I was wondering if you had any information on Sarah J. Riley and what is her real maiden name. I am Stacy Riley Dobson's great grand dtgr.

RE: Belle Vickers
Sorry without going to find again the stone is in bad shape and hard to read. A good cleaning might help.

Re: Eloise Willis
I understand what you are saying ... but, the dates on the tombstones are what they are. Not to say they are right. I don't think they are myself. But, Eloise is a relative of mine, buried in our family cemetery. And, the headstone was made by her father, Duncan ... and honestly, I don't think they paid much attention to dates back then.

I have the feeling the headstones were made well after the burial ... and time may have blurred the memory of the correct dates. All involved are dead now and I cannot ask them about it. I am still looking at census' and other documents in hopes of clarifying the aforementioned ...

Wish I knew myself. Thanks for the input.

I just posted the head stone picture of William and redid the picture for Nora. I hope this is a bit better.

RE: Ethel Teer Roberts
Thank you for the quick response. Not the parents I was hoping for. If you know where Jefferson Davis and Mary Elizabeth Webb Teer are buried, maybe you could create a memorial and link Ethel to them?
Thank you for helping me sort this out.

Find A Grave Memorial# 11722093 - you posted portrait of Ethel and Alva Roberts - do you happen to know Ethel's parents? I'm not related, interested to link her memorial to her parents because of a Teer/Robbins (buried at Linns Crossing) who are connected to my maternal line. Thank you for any information,

I was thinking that at some point they must have divorced and the marriage in Hughes County was them getting back together.

Memorial #51814924
I would like control of the above memorial. Floyd Turner is my Great Grandfather. My Dad is Donny Neal, son of Mavis Neal that had Video Vue in Quitman. I haven't been into this long and doing it mostly for Dad as he does most of the research.

If I am doing this wrong, please let me know and thanking you in advance for the consideration.

There are 2 Phillips Cemetaries in Walker County, Alabama.

The contributor (Hugh Don Phillips) that created the original memorial created them in 2001. The duplicate was created in 2007 by someone who transcribes whole cemetaries. I guess it's easy to get someone in the wrong Cemetary, especially if there are 2 by the same name.

I've sent an edit asking her to delete the duplicates.
Thank you.

RE: Jonsson
Hi Terry,

Happy to help - I looked them up in the Swedish Records and they are both buried at Veinge Kyrkogård. See Find A Grave Memorial# 148343037. I've included the source information for their death and burial records.

Henry Clay Creel
I noticed your note that you submitted for the Henry Clay Creel memorial. I agree with your statement with one exception. Celia Ann White was Henry's first wife. His second wife was Bertha Smith, daughter of Oscar and Florence Smith. Bertha was born in 1909, long after the marriage of Celia and Henry. Just wanted to clarify.

RE: Pvt William Rasberry
No Terry it does not, but his is the same as the other 2,200 markers in the Confederate Section of Old City. A group of ladies from Lynchburg set these stones almost 50 years after the end of the war. They did the best they could with the resources they had available to them at the time. There is a project being ran by The Southern Memorial Association to put down a bronze marker with a soldiers' full name, unit, birth and death dates. If you contact Ted Delaney there at Old City, he can give you all the details.

Best regards,
Darrell Landrum
