|Darrell Landrum||RE: Pvt William Rasberry|
No Terry it does not, but his is the same as the other 2,200 markers in the Confederate Section of Old City. A group of ladies from Lynchburg set these stones almost 50 years after the end of the war. They did the best they could with the resources they had available to them at the time. There is a project being ran by The Southern Memorial Association to put down a bronze marker with a soldiers' full name, unit, birth and death dates. If you contact Ted Delaney there at Old City, he can give you all the details.

G.I. Rasberry may be buried in an unmarked grave. because of the fact that he murdered my Great-Grandmother,...her name is Ethel Irene Yandle Pool she has a findagrave memorial...By saying this I am not trying to start a battle.

Hello there. I have a question about Bobbie...What proof do you have that he is buried at Riverside Cemetery? I have him buried at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery with a photo attached. I do realize that some people have two headstones but just want to make sure before I start trying to connect everyone. Thanks

Thanks Terry. Based on the how the obituary reads, it was probably in the Monday, March 27, 1944, edition of The Meridian Star. You supplied the most important tidbit in that it was the Star. Thanks again.

The obituary you posted on the memorial page for Bessie Halfacre. Is that from The Meridian Star? Do you have the date it was published? I am just trying to document her obit in my family database. Thanks.

Hello Terry, my name is Steve Owen. I am the grandson of Ms Lillie Goforth. Ms Lillie lived next door to Larry's mom and dad. I was born in 1950 and visted with my grandmother on weekends and Larry had access to a chemistry set. He showed me how to make gun power and we blew up Ms Lillies burn barrel and it's a wonder we didn't do more damage that that!! As I understand it, Ms Lillie is sister to Oma Raspberry. I remember the name, Doyen(sp)and Lewis Raspberry..but my abilty to remember things I blame to a "Senior" moment!! Thank you for what you're done with the family!! Steve Owen

FYI...In Mary Chain Rasberry's memorial, #46769539, Orin is listed as her sibling as shown on a census. It is actually "Barron D. Chain". My husband is a descendant in his direct line.

You have her listed in the Clanton cemetery. She is buried at the Billingsley church cemetery. I have a picture of her headstone if you would like it. Just let me know how to get it to you. (I am her granddaughter)

There are other listings for:
John H. Bailey
Both in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Nacogdoches
Both have photos of headstones.
The dates for John are shown as 1-19-1904/7-31-1969
Just wondering which is correct.
Thank you :-)

John Wesley Creel, Jr., son of John Wesley Creel and Delphine Tilman was my grandfather. You have him listed as buried in a cemetery in Theodore. He is buried here in Pensacola at Bayview Cemetery on Scenic Hwy.

|Native Texan||RE: Siblings of John Murphy|
Thank you for the quick reply. The changes I suggested were for his bio in his memorial. To me, his bio currently suggests they are his children and not siblings. Currently, there are no memorials for John Murphy's parents but I am working on that so the family links can be added.

Greetings. I am a genealogist researching the Rasberry line. I noticed you didn't have the wife of John Wesley Rasberry listed on his memorial, Malinda Jane Hazlewood, nor their daughter Malinda Rasberry. I stumbled across your Rasberry memorial pages after adding a photo to the page for Margie Moore (1921-1922). Margie was the grandaughter of Malinda Rasberry and Rafe "Jack" Spray, and the daughter of Laura (Spray) and Charles Floyd (Dillard) Moore. I am looking to add to the John Wesley Rasberry and Malinda Jane Hazlewood family tree in my genealgoy software.

Hello there, I saw on another member's profile that you had inquired about Rockview Cemetery and about the duplicates you noted in what is listed as Belk Hill Cemetery. I was wondering if you had ever figured out whether Rockview Cemetery also went by Belk Hill or not. The duplicates recently came to my attention when I was going through a few of my memorials that I had in Rockview and confused me. The only mentions I have ever come across for Belk Hill Cemetery are in more recent obituaries.

|sharon purcell||Catherine Rasberry|
Just wanted to tell you that I gave you Margaret Catherine's mothers death date, so sorry. I do not have a death date on her. I will not put a date on my tree unless I can prove it, the date on his site says that it was 1914, but I have a 1920 census that shows a M.C. Rasberry living with a R.N. Leggett age 57 showing M.C. as his sister age 80, and his mother age 79. This presents a problem. What I do know is Margaret Catherine is the daughter of Samuel Gates and Catherine Pyeatt and Samuels parents are William Gates and Catherine Hardin. I will do some research to see if Catherine Pyeatt Gates re married after Samuel died, something I have long suspected and could not prove. It is possible that Catherine Pyeatt remarried had a child and died, and that husband remarried and another woman raised the child. Samuel died in 1836, and Catherine Pyeat Gates died in 1856.
I Will get back to you as soon as I know something.
