RE: Vivan Maynard
Thanks So much for making all the transfers, I have been working on these Edward Thomas Ellington descendants for several weeks now. I have had some problems with findagrave site either not sending the messages or sending several at one time. Not sure what's up. Thanks again for posting these memorials, documenting these cemeteries is a historical task which preserves and honors those who came before us. Some of these grave markers are going to be very hard to read in just a few years. I am trying to connect my family descendants for those in search for relatives, not everyone can afford Thanks for your volunteer service to, I hope to get back to taking more photos, recovering from total knee replacements. Have a great week, Linda

RE: Vivian Ellington Maynard
That would be wonderful, and any other Ellington's you wish to transfer. I am trying to find parents and children's graves and link them together. There are a lot of people out there who can not afford's fees so I am trying to link and add as much history to these sites as I can to help those looking for relatives.
My memorial number is 47374845

thanks, Linda

RE: Thank You So Much!!!!!
Hi Pam. Thank you so much for acknowledging my efforts with Fancy Hill, but I'm not completely finished. I would say I have completed three fourths of the cemetery. Fancy Hill is located in a part of Gaston County that I consider the country. It is surrounded by homes and the people that live in those homes are members of the church. I have already spoken with one member and explained to her what I'm doing and she seemed to be fine with it. The last time I was in the cemetery, a lady stood in the parking lot and watched me. She didn't come into the cemetery and approach me, just watched.
The cemetery is very sad shape. Looks like the only thing that is ever done is mowing the grass. So many graves are in disrepair, covered in weeds and one grave monument has an azalea grown around it. There is also many unmarked graves.
Once I have completed Fancy Hill, I will inform you.

RE: Bailey Tree
My grandparents were instrumental in building Glencoe along with other farmers in the area. Patrick Murphy Bailey Sr and his second wife Lula Ozelle (Foster)are both buried there. "Murphy's" first wife, Mary Lillian (Barham), is buried in the Elm Grove Cemetery at Stokesdale

There were 7 children of Murphy's first marriage. Max was the only child of his second marriage.

RE: Thanks
Thanks for your kind thoughts. Yes, Max was my uncle. Actually he was my last living uncle so his death is particularly significant to me.

Glad you could make use of some of my photos and Find A Grave documentation. I have spent a fair amount of time traipsing through Rockingham and Guilford cemeteries trying to satisfy my insatiable desire to document my family ancestry. Hopefully this quest will last to others benefit as my legacy. Documenting the extended family of the Rockingham Bailey's, Barhams, Fosters, and Adkins families has been my objective.

Visits to Stokesdale, Flat Rock, Elm Grove, Sardis, Mount Bethel, Bethany, and Hillsdale cemeteries has provided me with a better understanding of our family ancestry. Max's 1/2 brother, Pat Bailey Jr, introduced me to the Bailey family cemetery located on the Fuquay farm near NC65 and Fuquay Rd. There is only one legible marker hidden in the undergrowth there. Even so, I added the cemetery to Find A Grave along with a photo of the Jinsey Jane (Smith) Bayley marker. It is recorded in the Find A Grave Bailey Family Cemetery. It was important for me to list the cemetery since I believe I am the last living person that knows of its existance.

One of Pat's daughters, Sarah Surratt in Asheboro, has done a fair amount of genealogy work on the family also. I believe her interest is more on her mother's side but she may have some Bailey info also. I'm in the process of "purifying" my own data to get it ready to upload to for sharing. It will probably take a couple of more months before I am comfortable that my data review/correction has been completed to my satisfaction.

Thanks again and good hunting.

David S. Bray
I found his death record.
He was born in VA. and so were both of his parents. Don't know where in VA.
David was a store keeper and lived in Wentworth NC at the time of his death. It says he is buried in City Cemetery. (?)
His parents were John Bray and Mollie Tuck.

David S. Bray
buried at Greenview.
Where was he born?
One of my direct lines is Bray, but I have never seen David or any of his family. Hopefully you can tell me what county and state he was born in, so I can make a connection.
Where is Rivers French buried?

RE: Ephesus Cemetery
No problem. Happy to go back out there if you think there are other family members buried there. Its perhaps the remotest church I have been to! :)

No, Thank you, I did the correction on Queenie Hill, you can take a look & see if it is satisfactory. I don't have a clue where I got the wrong Hill spouse info from. Anytime you see something wrong, please notify me, thanks, Larry

James Hankins
Rene Alice (Joyce) Nuckols
I'm James Hankins. I'd contacted another contributor to correct the spelling of Rene's husband's name from Nuchols to Nuckols, and to add his middle name of Cecil. While looking at Rene's entry, hosted by you, I noticed that your didn't have her birth and death locations. She was born 12/16/1919 in Rockingham Co., NC, and died 8/15/2004 in Creedmoor, Granville Co., NC. You may not be interested but I also have a copy of her obituary. If you'd like me to send you a copy, just let me know. My interest in her is that Benjamin is my 3d cousin, twice removed. Regards, James
