McCall Cemetery, # 2

Would you mind to please place this comment you wrote in the "Address Line" of the Cemetery to make it easier to differentiate between the 2 McCall Cemeteries? You wrote this in the "description" portion, it it helps to also have it on the "address line."

Elkton, NC Road near Martin Gourd Road and Blue Field

I have ancestors who are supposed to be buried there, in the Elkton location. :-)
Thanks and Bless you for all your information on the 2 locations! Sandi :-)

Col Thomas Robeson
Frank, what family connection do you have to Col Thomas Robeson, Memorial# 34226370, that you established? There is another memorial for Col Robeson on Find A Grave that was set up by one of my distant cousins. Col Robeson is my 5th Great Grandfather.
Thanks, Leon Robeson, #48034457, of Bladen County.

Duplicate Cemeteries
Hi, just a short note to let you know you have two Jordan Cemeteries in two different counties with mostly the same memorials in them.

Jordan Cemetery
Columbus County
North Carolina USA
12 memorials
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2281415

And

Jordan Cemetery
Clarkton
Bladen County
North Carolina USA
9 memorials
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2346945

could you look into the problem and see which memorials need to be deleted, along with the cemetery? I can't request a merge since they are in two different counties; it's best to delete the duplicates before making a correction to the cemetery designation.

thanks,
Karyn

RE: Thanks Frank!
I see... Christine's line is...

Richard
Benjamin
Jonathan
Joseph
Jonathan
Rowland
Snowden
John Daniel
James Daniel
James Daniel Jr.
Christine

... so you are cousins back at the first Jonathan. I'm putting together a book of her history for a Christmas gift. The Bladenboro Historical Society, the Mother County Genealogical Society, and Yvonne Miller Brunton's "Singletary History" have made the job pretty easy, but I have also been collecting as many actual documents & photos as possible. The pictures are wonderful! Thanks again for all your help!

Best regards,
Bob Avery

Thanks Frank!
We truly appreciate the photos of Snowden & Sarah Singletary's memorial markers. Are you by any chance a descendant too?

Cheers,
Bob & Christine Avery

RE: Burney Cemetery at Elkton
That is a shame. Do you know if the one left is for James Burney, Sarah Council Burney, or someone else?

RE: Buie Cemetery
Hi Frank,

I tried to get a few initial photos in place. Like you said, someone did a really good job in cleaning it up. No ticks but it surely was hot there.

I think that I will go back when it cools off some. Maybe by then the confederate marker will be in for William Council Burney. I am not sure where his grave is (probably one of the wooden markers), but I think I will place his headstone with all the other Burneys (among his sons). He and William Edwards make at least two confederate soldiers in the cemetery.

Maybe with softer lighting and more time I can get better photos of some of the markers as well.

I also thought about trying to document the Elkton-Burney cemetery but definitely will wait until late Fall or Winter to tackle that one.

Mike
