Thanks Sherry for advising about Edgar Cemetery. Was not aware that it was the same as Silas Baptist Church Cemetery. You are obviously more familiar with the area than myself. The obit made no mention of Edgar Cemetery and I couldn't find it on Find A Grave at the time I made the memorial. If you find any more errors, please let me know. Thanks, Caretaker

You gave me a DOD for this person. I have found an application for his CSA headstone with a different DOD. It's posted on his memorial. Please take a look and tell me what you think.

Edgar Cemetery - Bethlehem, GA
Hi Sherry, I go to Bethlehem usually once a month and I would be happy to take a photo of your family's graves but I can not find the location of the cemetery. Findagrave does not seem to have its location documented. Do you have any more info on this cemetery so that I may be able to find it? Thank you, Pam

Another Perkins and an Edgar
In posting the photos I took the other day, I came across another child of Marion & Emma, Asbery Perkins, born Oct 21, 1893, died Dec 7, 1893. In the 1900 Census, they reported that she had 3 children, all of whom were living. I've created a memorial for him.

I noticed your middle (maiden?) name and it triggered a memory. About a year ago when I first went to the Chapel Christian Church cemetery to take some photos, I met a gentleman named Billy Edgar who was tending to a couple of family plots, We talked for some time in the heat of the day, couple of old guys just chatting up a storm he told me about Winder in years past, how his wife had passed, (and possibly a son?), about where he lived and, at my prompting, why he was wearing a sidearm. He lives along a road I often take when I'm going to Winder and a couple of times I've seen him out cutting his grass. Respecting his privacy I've never stopped. Somehow, I think that real nice fellow may be related to you.

Odd that the spelling error wasn't dealt with when the stone was first put in place, but there could have been myriad reasons why - she's apparently remarried (still looking for evidence of that)and it may well be that those who had the stone made didn't know the right spelling.

It is a little bit sad that the person who digitized that page of the census report misread her name as Kera.

Thank you so much - I think it is very important that these FG entries be as accurate as possible.

Perkins/Edgar @ Chapel Christian
I'll admit to being a bit surprised at seeing those three initials, and even my wife who was born and raised in Georgia said she'd never seen it before.

While we were at the cemetery, we took a number of photos including quite a few Perkins. Some I've added to existing memorials and others I'll use to create new ones.

In your original request for Marion Perkins, you said, " Hopefully his wife Emily Elizabeth Edgar Perkins will be found as well." He shares his marker with an Emma E. Perkins, so I ran an Ancestry query to check on her name and found several with Emma, but none with Emily. Do you have an error in your genealogy?

Thank you
That was very fast in replying. Do you know if there is any kind of obituary notices concering his passing?
I am sorry to learn (by Find a Grave)that Ms. Sara has passed as well, I had so hope to have been able to talk with one of them. As Lealand had been mentioned within our family.
Thank you for getting back to me, I regrett for not doing this sooner.
Bless you and the work you do.

2 memorial stones
In looking for relatives, I noticed that Memorial # 60109287 has 2 memorial stones for the same person, appears to have been undated in 2010. Is it possible to inquire on this? Or anyone to contact?

Sherry, looking for folks in Andalusia Memorial is a daunting task, a little like looking for a needle in a haystack. The tombstone you requested is on the right side of the cemetery, next to the woods, about in the middle(crossways)of the cemetery.
