Kenneal Finch
A headstone
You have a picture of Ellen Nellie Johns that is wrong. In the Gap Pond Cemetery, in Washington County Florida. Someone has defaced that Grave and put in what they wanted it to be. I have sumitted the photo of the original Grave that is not scratched up. It belongs to My husbands great Grandmother Ezebella Finch, and his Dad Rex R. Finch Sr. is right beside her With James Leonard and Willie Ellen, Who are his Grandparents. Please remove that photo. We would appreciate it. thank you. Whoever did this should be prosecuted. I just don't know how to. Or We would.

Edgar March Thomas
Edgar March Thomas (born in Ellerville, Bradford Co., FL; son of Walter Thomas, b. 1847, Nova Scotia) is my grandfather. I have traced his Thomas line back to the arrival in Philadelphia of two brothers -- Walter and Alexander -- from somewhere in Wales. (An ancestor from 1700s Wales is harder to track down than one in the U.S. named Smith...)

Walter's son, Joseph, 1752- 1811, was a Tory. He went to Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, shortly after the end of the American Revolution. Two generations later, another Joseph and his family immigrated to Massachusetts, then to Bradford County, FL, where my father, Joseph Edgar (1908-1969) was born.

Since I am the last child born in the line from the first Joseph to my father (my brother is adopted), I would like to be the person who maintains the memorials to those in this line, if it is alright with you.

I will be able to add data for those whose place of burial, etc., I know. As a volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness for nine years and as a retired print journalist, I know the value of documentation. Nothing without documentation would be used.

Thank you for considering my request.

Jo Thomas Woodward

PS -- When I was a child, Crosby Lake Cemetery was a place of fasciation. I went out there several times a year with my Grandmother Thomas and other family members, until she died in 1945. They allowed me to ramble while they cleaned the grave sites. There was an area of nothing but children's gravestones, if my memory is correct, not far from where my Thomas-Kickliter family was buried. It was the first place I checked out at every visit. All those children who died so young captured my imagination in a way I've never forgotten.

Went back to the cemetery in 2003, when on my way to a class reunion. I swear it looked the same, after 58 years.

Dori Emerson Lloyd
Ritter transfer
Thanks so much for transferring Aline and James Ritter to me. :) I read the turtle story on your profile and clicked to the memorial. Turns out Mrs. Dyal is a cousin! She is a Starling, and Levi Starling is our common ancestor. What a pleasant surprise to discover that! Thank you for all you do... Dori :)

Ednell Newbern
Jack Mott death date
After going to the Pine Grove Cemetery listing on Monday night and seeing that the death date of Jack Mott was not entered, I wanted to give you that date. It was March 8, 2014. He & Frances were our personal friends. They were a fine couple. We spent many hours with them playing golf, eating out, shopping, attending church activities and enjoying our group of friends. Thank you for adding that date.
