Memorials created
Thank you David for all the memorials you created for me. You don't know how much that means to me. I knew where they was located. But didn't know how to add them myself. Marie Rapaliere Stollens/Stolns, John L Stolns, Kamel Stolns. Ogda Margaret Pierson and Zelpha Gorden. I am now working on adding information and pics to all those that I have pics and documents for on yours and others. I was told by F a G Admin. that after adding a name on F a G that it usually takes up to a year to show. Thank you again so much, I appreciate you and all others that have worked so hard mowing the rows getting this out so others may be able to find their loved one.

Girkin/Gerkin memorials
I would be happy to transfer any of the other Girkin/Gerkin memorials to you from this cemetery. I created them because I saw that they were not already in existence. There are several of them. Found them while searching for another smaller cemetery just across the road. Send me a request via function and I'll be happy to transfer!

Marilyn Spurgeon
RE: Leah Spurgeon
David, I have searched for our gr grandmother, Leah Logan Spurgeon, for many years. So I was surprised to come upon your entry. However,
I am not sure this is the same person although she lived in Martin County, IN. Thank you for your response. I need to find an obituary in a
Martin Co. paper. Do you have an idea of a paper that existed in Martin Co in 1910? Thank you for any help you can give us. Marilyn Spurgeon

RE: # 31085044 James Walker
Thanks David--

Sometime soon I will get to tour Indiana and will visit the many gravesites I have found through great contributors like you!

I feel fairly certain that this old soldier is one of my Walkers.

Thanks

# 31085044 James Walker
Hi David --

I think that James Walker might be my 2xgreat uncle. I believe that he was the son of Isom (Isham) Gwin Walker and Clarissa J. Thurston Walker.
My Walker family had a long time history of living in Martin -- Isom and Clarissa were married there in 1835.

How did you come across the parentage listed on this memorial? Could you share? Does James have a middle initial?

Hi David - I added mine on 25 Feb 2014. I don't think that this was a photo request, the name just got my attention. I see it in my "Struck My Fancy" virtual cemetery when I checked just now, that has to be it. More on MV later. Amy

RE: John R Ballard
Personally, I'd leave both photos posted -- like a before & after. I usually do not do much enhancing of the photos that I post unless they are really hard to read. Also a lot of the time when I do the enhancing I don't like the way the grass looks. However, since the memorial has been transferred to you, I would say you make the call. I appreciate that you gave me credit on your photo. Let me know if you want mine removed.

RE: James Hubbard
Hi David - I think you get great photos. I did get a straight-on close-up of the name/date plaque for James, which I usually do when the dates aren't easily legible in a shot of the entire marker. But, I didn't add that one, just the one that shows the whole monument with its new top. I thought your original photo showed the date well enough. Take care, Amy

James Hubbard monument in Columbia
Hi David - I was fulfilling a photo request in Columbia today, and I got a photo of Mr. Hubbard's repaired monument (49999929) at the same time. I think it was one of the interesting ones that made the news recently. Anyway, I see that the memorial already had a photo that you contributed. I like to follow the rules about adding a photo to a memorial that already has one, that is, I'll only do it if the existing one is not very good and mine is "dramatically" better. I'm not sure what to do in this case. Your photo is very nice, but it's of the monument before it was repaired. I went ahead and added mine with the thinking that both of the photos together are kinda interesting, they show that this monument has a "history". Is this ok with you? I'll remove mine if you're not ok with this, just let me know. -Amy

CHASTAINS IN LOST RIVER
I also see you added all or most of his children. thanks so much. i am not sure if you own these memorials, but i have some questions.

As to Phoebe Frankes Hopper Chastain 46057019
Birth: Apr. 28, 1835
Death: Dec. 17, 1909

it is listed that she married JOhn Hopper 2nd, but i believe she married him first. If you look at the children, the Hopper child DOB is prior to all the Chastain children DOB. Just wanted to check on that.

As to Thomas and Gertrude. These are both listed as Chastain children, yet share the same stone. Just want to be sure since they are buried under same stone. Could it be that Thomas married a Gertrude and that Gertrude is not necessarily Andrew's daughter but instead daughter in law?
Thomas Chastain (1873 - 1935)*46082849
Gertrude M Chastain (1875 - 1939)*45856537

Hopefully you know the answers! thanks, pat

Thanks so much, David - I appreciate the transfer! I have looked at the info I had on Hazel Lockhart and I don't think I know much beyond what you know. Will certainly let you know if I run across anything. Thanks again - you are most kind.

John and Sophia Urban Dopler
Hi David! I've taken many stone photos in St. Mary's Cemetery in Martins Ferry, but I didn't find any I took of the Dopler stone(s). I, too, am interested in finding this/these stone(s). John and Sophia's great great granddaughter, Marjorie Lee "Margie" Glitsch Lofton, married my dad's first cousin, Gerald James Lofton in 1959. She descends through their daughter Louisa Dopler, who married Martin Glitsch. I am trying to find when Martin Glitsch died, and where he is buried. I think I might have found him on the online Pennsylvania death certificate index. I have to order his death certificate to see if it is indeed the correct Martin Glitsch. He died between 1906-1910. Louisa never remarried and died in 1954. You can see her linked memorial, and those of some of her descendants. Sophia Urban Dopler appears on the PA death certificate index, so her obituary can be ordered. A lot of people had inaccuracies in John and Sophia's death dates, but fortunately I found them on the death indices and I did find their obituaries which I can attach. Great work on Mary Dopler Markle!

You were absolutely correct. I had to research it and after changing it, I saw that you had attempted to add a photo. Must have been some sort of glitch by Find A Grave because it does not show up. Could you please check it out? Thanks
