RE: Old Family
I have searched my records and the only reference I have been able to find is that "Mary" Find a Grave contributor #46536583 gave me some data on the Old family.
Perhaps she knows about this?

I'm glad that I can help! And you're really on the ball - I just posted Lillian yesterday.
Would you like for me to transfer to you so that you can link her to her parents?

RE: Cecelia Darby Old Batte
thank you for your message. I had put her in the wrong cemetery. I had been researching the Darby's and had accidently placed Cecelia in the incorrect cemetery. Yes, her grave is not marked and I truly believe she is buried in Kellyville. Her daughter, Hattie lee, I found TODAY in the death certificates of Virginia. She did not have a memorial so I created one for her and linked her to her mother and father.
Hattie and William Batte were in Jefferson, Marion County Texas in the 1870 census. The informant on Hattie's d/c (Mrs. H. M. Butler) states Hattie was born in Kellyville. Since she was 6 (born in 1864) it stands to reason they were in Kellyville when Cecelia died in 1868. thanks for catching my error.

Wondering if you are related to the Old Family buried in family cemetery near Petersburg, Lincoln County, Tenn?

Robert Lee grave
Sorry, I don't remember where his grave was located in the cemetery. But you might check at the Shiner library or the Halletsville library for the books by Sammy Tise on Lavaca County cemeteries. I think he did a total of five books "Lavaca County Cemetery Records". You will find them in the genealogy section. Perhaps you will find a plot number for Robert Lee.

Elizabeth Mariah Bowles Patterson
Sorry but I submitted an edit in error to unlink Elizabeth Mariah Bowles Patterson from John Bowles. I was trying to unlink Nancy Rainwater from John Bowles. My great grandmother, Nancy Rainwater was the child of James Rainwater (the blacksmith not the preacher) and Apposley Cunningham Rainwater. Not sure who linked her to John Bowles, but I'm fairly sure there is no connection. She was born, reared, and died in Campbell, Carroll, and Floyd counties in Georgia.

RE: Francis Old Dean
Like you I checked ancestry and found nothing. She seems to have been from Norfolk and there is an Old family there then but not her.

I'm going out of town but when I get back I'll dig thru some "old" email addys and I might be able to find some of her Deans descendants and you can ask them but not today.

Thank so much for your kindness, and thanks for all you do for Findagrave. I am sure there are a lot of people that appreciated your time going to cemeteries and taking photos of their ancestors.

Re: Ditch Cem in Uvalde Co.
Hi William, hate to bother you, but you would be so kind to tell me exactly the cemetery is. I saw the plaque on side of the highway 140. But according to the directions on Uvalde Co. website it was not there. I would like to know, just to know or how far I was from it or was I even close to it.

The article on T E Old came from the History of Oregon County book, known as the "blue book". We are working on a reprinting of the book as well as an E version. Will also be a new book if you have information to submit please e-mail me. Likely will not get going on that project for a few months. The person that sub the Old's story likely has more. You have a great family line-congratulations. The Old's store in Thayer was part of my early cherished memories. Shann Caldwell Thayer,Mo

Old family
I am a descendant of Elijah Old, through his son, Elzie, my grandfather. I have some family records from his wife's Bible. Since I am not in Missouri, I really appreciate the great information available on Find A Grave. Thanks!!

RE: Thank you
She is near Finis Bates and the Houston plot. Wish I could say for sure where but I walked 3/4 of the cemetery Christmas morning shooting single "lonely" headstones and filling requests. I was waiting for my wife's family to wake up on Christmas so I went out. I am transferring her memorial to you. I saw the Old's and looked for Arminta's husband online. What I found is that he is likely buried with the Etheredge family in Luling Cemetery. I live in New Braunfels so when I can I might walk the cemetery in Luling.

RE: Thank you
You are welcome. It was a challenge as many of the stones are hidden behind bushes and trees. Some are also broken. I did miss a few, hope to return there soon.

William I noticed several tombstones in the cemetery that had the same name as your's. It's the first time that I had seen the name Old. Do you think you might be related to these Old's. Anthony
