I have info on both families....... Ossinger is in my line too.

My Great Great Aunt's daughter married an Ossinger and my G.G. Aunt married an Outhouse. Also a couple of my G.G. Aunt's children married Outhouses.

RE: Laura Roher
Didn't have much time to get on the computer until today. Here are my sources.

1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and the 1930 United States Federal Census - they all list her place of birth in Tennessee.

I found her and Robert Humphrey listed in the Illinois marriage index - 23 December 1877.

I have a copy of her marriage license to my great-great grandfather listing her widowed married name of Humphrey. 10 June 1883.

In the 1910 census she is listed as a widow.

The 1920 census shows her married to John Roher and does indeed show she was born in Tennessee.

I've sent some other corrections and would appreciate if you would approve them. Also, please link her parents: Alex High memorial #3255629. Her mother's memorial #40306857 - Mary Ann Polly Cloud Terrell.

RE: Laura Roher
Are you sure she was the mother of his children? Wouldn't Mary Elizabeth Munson have been the mother of his children given her death date? I thought she was a second wife and didn't have any children together. The dates don't match up. Maybe there are 2 Laura's. Do you have any knowledge of her 1st husband John Humphrey or her 2nd husband William Ballard? I received my information from another genealogist who visited the family in Iowa and spoke with the granddaughter of Laura's sister Mary. Laura was supposedly married many times. I've only found the marriage record of her and my great-great grandfather William Ballard.

oh and the death date on Laura's memorial doesn't match her stone. Is the stone in error? That happens.

RE: Laura Roher
Well then, hi there long lost cousin. :) Do you have any family stories on Laura or her mother? I've had a hard time with Polly Cloud's parents. I know they were Reuben Cloud and Elizabeth Stout. I know Elizabeth's mother was Charita but that is it. I've been in contact with someone who has done extensive research on the Cloud family but she is stuck as well. We suspect Elizabeth was a Quaker. There is an Elizabeth Stout daughter of Charita but it has her married to a Jesse Moon and the dates do not match up.

RE: Unknown
FYI, administrators routinely delete all "unknown" cemeteries, so regardless of anything else, your plan isn't really going to work out.

Thank you for your contributions to Find A Grave, but please do not create "unknown" cemeteries. Memorials should not be entered unless there is a known burial location.

RE: John Larkin
There are only 3 stones for John Larkin's in the lot and 3 John Larkin's in the RI Database, so after seeing and photographing, I thought to point that out. The other creator does not say that John 1821 is married to Hannah, but buried adjacent to her. Her husband, John 1861, is on the other side of her. I really have no proof or interest in the matter, and am only interested in taking photos, just thought that it was too much of a coincidence to have an extra John with a date so similar to an existing one.

william goodwin father
Paula , I have no knowledge concerning the father of William Goodwin. I have the photograph of Amanda Goodwin that belonged to my grandmother but I have never seen a photo of her husband William. I was told that none existed of him. There is very little information about William and I know nothing about his father or mother . All of the information that I have acquired about the Goodwin family came from the older family members and they are all dead now. Tom

RE: Goodwin children
Paula, I was looking at old photos of the Goodwin family many years ago when I came across one of my grandmother Martha and another woman together that I didn't know and was told that it was her sister Agnes. Just like you I knew about William , Miles, Wallace, and my grandmother Martha as siblings but I had not heard about Agnes. I have the photo with the two women but it would take someone who would be able to know the identity of the other woman pictured with my grandmother and those people are all dead. So unless you can find a birth record of all of the children of Amanda and William Goodwin I guess we will never know for sure. I only know what I was told. People do get confused or are mistaken about identities of others so you could be right as I never knew the sister of my grandmother.

Paula, I have added the large photo portrait of our great grandmother Amanda Jane Lewis Goodwin to her find a grave site. I think it looks very appropriate there.

RE: Amanda Lewis Goodwin
Paula, yes my grandmother was Amanda's daughter Martha Jane Goodwin Britton( 1897-1970 ). Martha was first married to a Ralph Jones and then after his death she married a Louis Britton. There were five children of Amanda and William Goodwin. They were William, Miles, Wallace, Martha,(my grandmother ) and Agnes. I think you contacted me some years ago concerning a large portrait of Amanda Goodwin taken in the early 1900's that at the time I had no way of copying however, I have since made a copy of it. I also have a portrait photo taken about 1917 of my grandmother and her mother Amanda together as well as other photos of the other family members. I had heard of Miles and his family in Michigan. My mother Ruth Jones Hanks was a daughter of Martha Britton.

Lenora Middleton
First, apologies for the delay but the mystery is solved.

Her husband William, predeceased her and they had a couples marker installed at that time of his death in 1959. Both names including her birth date were inscribed then. When she died nearly 35 years later she was then buried in the Baptist Cemetery in Melrose. So she is not at Evergreen with her husband. We have no burial record for Lenora.

All the best,
