mount ararat cemetery
do you know if the ertes family are related to Lawrence and Beatrice kahn? the following is listed on mount Ararat's interment listing:

ERDHEIM, IRVING 95-A-22 10/3/1986
ERTES, RUTH 95-A-22 5/23/1999
ERTES, SID 95-A-22 10/10/2001
KAHN, LAWRENCE 95-A-22 4/28/1999
ERDHEIM, EDNA 95-A-23 8/20/1993
KAHN, BEATRICE 95-A-23 10/25/1994

If they are all related I will go back and take their pictures as well. As of right now I have only added pictures for Lawrence and Beatrice.

RE: Breger
Hi Cheryl,

I have visited Vilijampole/Slobodka a month ago. Many tombstones from the cemetery were demolished and only around 200 are still located in the very top of the hill. A friend of mine began to transcribe and translate inscriptions I photographed, so as far as I know there is any last name of Breger for now.
Anyway, the last names are often not included in traditional Litvak epitaphs, so it is better to trace relatives by knowing the approximate date of death, their name and patronymics.
If you think you can lend a hand with Vilijampole inscriptions translation from Hebrew to English, any help is very appreciated.

RE: Arthur Kanzelbaum
Would you please give me the memorial number as I create memorials in numerous cemeteries.

Thank you, James

RE: Louis Meyers
I don't know, but the gravestone didn't match the others, so I figured the person was not related.

Bregers at Memorial Park in Skokie
I just checked your photo requests - if you call Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie 847-864-5061 and get the grave locations I can do the photos next Saturday.

Lillian Kahn name is Linda and I just took a photo of Lillian on your behalf. Her location was PERFECT except for one small detail. You have Lillian in the wrong cemtery. You have her listed in Kensico and she's really in Sharon Gardens. Sharon Gardens in across the street from Kensico and is entirely Jewish. Kensico recently (meaning 5 or 6 years ago) took over management of Sharon Gardens and it can be considered one and the same, I guess. But it really isn't. There is a separate listing for Sharon Gardens on Find a Grave. Transferring the whole memorial page over to the right cemetery is very easy. Hit EDIT at top of page...then BURIAL INFORMATION, then CONTINUE and change cemetery from KENSICO to Sharon Gardens Cemetery. Hope this helps..

Hi! Reference your photo requests at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.

I am one of the few people who actually photographs at this cemetery. With over 150,000 burials in the cemetery, there is no way that any photo volunteer is going to be able to find the graves unless you provide the plot location.

If you go to the following website and submit your request this should provide the grave plot.

It usually takes a couple days to receive a reply (depending on how busy the office staff is).

If you then send me the names and burial plots I should be able to provide you photos within a week or two afterwards (depending upon my schedule and Chicago weather).

Just so you know, the Find A Grave Help files also state that it is the responsibility of the photo requestor to provide the burial plot location.

If you have any questions in regards to this information, please let me know.

Hirsch, Sarah photo
Hello Cheryl,
I have posted (2) photo's for Barnett Hirsch. I also have a photo for Sarah Hirsch whose grave is located next to Barnett's. Where would you like me to upload the photo? Did you want to create a memorial for her and then I will be glad to upload the photo. Best regards, Steve

Benjamin & Zlata Breger
Hi! In regards to your photo request, can you please call the cemetery or submit a grave location request online and obtain the grave location (Gate, Section & Lot Numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the Find A Grave memorial.

Waldheim Cemetery: (708) 366-4541
Online submission:

Waldheim Jewish Cemetery is a huge consolidated group of cemeteries with over 150,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find a grave and take a photograph.

Thank you, Ace

Ann is all set.
Thanks for your kind words. I started taking the "location photos" after someone filled one of my photo requests. Yes, we want to see the stone, but it is also nice to get a photo of the area where the stone is - and also the location of relatives buried nearby. I'm glad you enjoy the photos because I love doing them!
Until next time -
Gmar tov

Hi Cheryl - I posted the photos for William Breger. You need to add a memorial for Ann Breger so I can post the photo for her as well. Enjoy!

RE: Breger's
No, we are not related to the Bregers. We documented that entire cemetery.

Photo Requests
Hi Cheryl -

I've never been to Menorah Gardens so you'll probably have to post that request. I should be able to take care of the other ones either tomorrow or next Sunday.
