America Fowler
I believe this may be my relative also (you posted that he is your 5th great grandfather). Do you have any information on the Fowler lineage? My grandfather died from his injuries from an auto accident in 1946 and I never knew his family. Any information you might have would be fabulous!! My great grandfather's name was John Quincy Fowler and my grandfather's name was Fred Steven Fowler.
Thanks!

RE: Wrong Cemetery??
I would be happy to transfer the whole cemetery to you if you'd like. It was some years ago we went to that area and did about four cemeteries in one trip-then had some camera glitches, this is the result. Please email me at sandyzins@gmail.com and we can work out which ones you'd like transferred - or better yet - all in one click. I appreciate your understanding about mixups -it is my life these days! Thank you for your message.

RE: Beske Transfers
Great! If possible, should you see any records for others, do pass them along and I'll enter them for others, too.

I transferred the clan to ya that I had. I noticed some dup'ed marriage in the Hector cem group. It does get exciting when you find those spouses!! Enjoy your family and the connections to be made.

RE: Wrong Cemetery??
Hi Krista, no doubt you are entirely correct. At this point, I'm wondering if you'd like the memorials you are related to transferred to you. I have no problem with that at all, and maybe you would like the whole cemeteries (if we can do that) as well. I have only been to those places one afternoon years ago, and it's not likely I'll go again. We did about six cemeteries in the one day, and things got a little mixed up. Let me know what you'd like me to do - either transfer to you or whatever works for you. Thanks for letting me know! Sandy

He is buried in St. Olaf Cemetery alongside his wife Cora. If this is your relative, I'd be happy to make the transfer to you.

Freitag - Netzke memorials
Thank you for sending your suggestions. It takes a lot of searching through the various records to untangle the people of long ago due to the reuse of names and records that are sometimes incorrect. Please send any changes you'd like me to make, or additional information you'd like included - the key is the memorial number to be sure to find the right people. Thank you for contacting me!

I wonder if I may have your permission to use your cemetery photo on my family website. Check it out at http://freienmuth-shortridge.com/freienmuth/freienmuth-cemeteries.html. This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Thank you.

Relation
We have a mutual ancestor somewhere along the line-- we are definitely from the same Burks Bunch. I'll have to go and see who we're both descended from.

RE: Laffen and Reinke
That's ok to transfer. You might want to send as you see it before another relative asks and it ends up in someone else's (although fam) hands. It's not a bother, just a help when your mem # is in the transfer request (it only 5 clicks from email notice to transfer complete). Either way you'd like.

If you do start tracking down some death certificates, feel free to make requests for pics from the death certificates burial location :)

RE: Laffen and Reinke
Thanks! I was hoping to help one or two people right off the bat - but there are lots of requests from folks just noticing who's buried where. So fun to see! And, so many trees growing!!

So fun to see how pics from one cemetery are real people that connect to other pics of stones in a different cemetery and link (sorta) through my lens!

Thanks for giving me the family names! Big help and saves time.

If you can, on tranfers, please include your account #.

P Burks dates inaccurancy
I got your message. With the work I'm doing with the cemetery records, I'll need to wait until I get to the stone and then I will add a note of descrpancy or in this case, be able to delet and add Gramma's info from the stone. Sorry, but I've got to give the raw data a chance and try to figure where it went wrong so I can tuck it away for future issues.

With the entry process, the birth/death don't get 'played' with so it will really help me figure out the trouble with the dates, especially since I know who's dates these really are! Thanks a ton for pointing this out. Perhaps I can figure the glitch if it's one that will affect other records.

That's ok - maybe there will be a gem or two for you as I continue to add all of the interments from Oakland, Hutchinson Cem. Never know maybe a few infants or children... Maybe just keep checking to see what new names pop up.

RE: Gruendemann
Hold on. The birth and death dates are different. When I find the stone, that may help figure out if there are two Perry Burks...

Gee, we might just be cousins. I'm from the Chappell/Wright/Huff lines out of Woodruff county. Do you live in AR?

Is St John's the same as Getchell? (Sorry on the spelling)

I'll keep an eye out for these fam names and transfer as I come up on them; if I miss them, please feel free to send a reminder to transfer (with so many records, it'll be a big help).

Oops, I already have a mem for Perry Burks; I'll get your # and transfer him for you - would you be able to cancel your duplicate since the account I created does have the plot info and stuff from the cemetery records??? 95120531 is Perry's number

RE: Gruendemann
I know what you mean on the shadows - a hint for Oakland - try to do it late afternoon to early evening - Stones in sections C,D,E,and F are on the east side of the cemetery - I tried to do pics this morning and it wasn't nearly as easy as when I'm out there late afternoon/evening.

And, bring a shovel/trowel - lots of stones have some dirt on them and a few have a few small shovel fulls of dirt to remove to see the names.

I also bring a towel; I use it to swipe the stones a few times when they are really covered with leaves and junk. I try to keep pics "as much in the state I find them" as possible, but I feel ya gotta be able to see what's written.

The city does spray for 'squitos but I do carry a few wipes with for the gnats and flies.

Before you come, please holler to me and I can try to guide you on the spots to go since Oakland is so huge and even with a map, I get confused!!

If you see any relatives that are on Find A Grave but don't have a photo yet, please request. There is a volunteer in Hutch that responds to requests and uploads photos in 48 hours or less!
