I'm not sure if he is connected to your family, but I see that you have added his photograph to his memorial page. I have no family connection but I have posted a photo of a memorial plaque which is in his home parish church in Northwich, Cheshire, UK. If it of interest to you, please feel free to use it as you wish

RE: Private John Charles Bailey
They were for sale on ebay a while ago. When the listing ended I down loaded the picture to add to the memorial

Hi Anna,
could you please use the edit tab at the top right corner of their pages and use "Correction" to leave your request
this saves me bundles of time searching for the individuals.
If they are family you may request a transfer too!

Anna, thank you for posting a photo of my Great Grandfather on his memorial. As he died in '45, I, nor his grand kids have ever seen a photo of him. Might I ask, where did you get this photo from?

RE: Samuel Hawthorn and Jennie Hawthorn
Think of a block of 4 houses on a hillside about 1 1/2 miles outside a miniscule village in N E England about the turn of the last century. Then think my father's grand mother lived in one of those houses and a lady from my husband's family did too, but the 2 families never mingled till I met hubby in Edmonton in 1971!

Family history never ceases to amaze me!

Since you are related , I chose to transfer his page to you because he is not related to me at all, and families deserve to be together.

Nevermind - I see you already added the photo to Ancestry. Thanks!

W.G. Williams at Ecoivres
Would it be permissible to add his photo to our Ancestry tree? His Aunt Agnes was married to a nephew of my gg aunt.

BTW his father's surname would be Williams as well.

Thanks for all of your contributions!

Thank you Thank you so very much!! I called my Mom, his granddaughter, she said that she thought that she would never see this again. I can't express to you how much this means to us.
Would you please also put this photo on his wife's memorial. Alice Flack. memorial number 25639047
Do I have your permission to use this photo on my family tree?
Best Regards,

Robert Edward McDonald
Hi Ann - my pleasure to have been able to add him. If you're 100% sure the headstone is for Robert Edward, I'm happy to change the entry from just his initials as on the headstone, to include his full name.

PS: Leonard Averill
His Find A Grave memorial is given as "Drvr L Averill", in Belgium. Right now there's an unintentional dupe as "Driver L Averill", from the same contributor, but I've sent a SAC and hopefully that'll be corrected soon.

In the meantime, I've just made the Bond Head entry for Leonard Averill, and you can link to his war grave Find A Grave memorial through that if you're interested.

RE: James Edward Cassells
Thankyou so much for the link. :)

The simple stone for James Cassell's father's final place of rest is truly all that's there. I hope to eventually locate and link up other members of Mark Cassell's family, so I won't feel he's so 'lonely' or un-recorded.

Interesting to note that Leonard Averill, also named on the Pickering Cenotaph that's in the photo on James Cassell's memorial, and which you have so wonderfully researched and 'tree'd' on "that other site", is commemmorated in Bond Head United Cemetery as well, on _his_ family's monument. I've asked the custodian of his Find A Grave memorial to link Leonard to his parents in BHUC (Adam and Sarah Elizabeth).

Somehow, in all the pictures I took last summer at BHUC, I missed getting a photo of the other side of the Averill monument, and will certainly be making a point of doing so next time I'm up there.

Glad to have been in touch :D
