RE: dates
Thank you for your message about Frank Atkins' dates. November 7th is the correct date; it is wrong on his marker. According to his daughter (who has a copy of the death certificate), the family has talked with the cemetery about having it corrected, but there is some kind of problem because it is a military marker. They continue to work on getting the change made.

RE: Emily Bonifay Clements
Thank you so very much. When I started doing my family research (almost 10 years ago) I nearly went crazy when I would come across old documents that matched everything but the name. Then a wise and experienced pro told me that I had to allow for the different countries that came through and set up "housekeeping" and each one would tell the settlers that they had to swear an oath to whatever king or queen there was. He told me a person's name would appear on legal records in the language of the occupying country.
Whew! What a mess! But I know you are much more experienced at this sort of thing and I'm sure you see it all the time. Anyway, Thank you again Donna, for all your hard work and dedication.

Emily Bonifay Clements
Hello Donna,

Thank you for all your hard work! I would like to correct something though. My grandmother, Emily Bonifay Clements father is listed as "Mitchell Bonifay". Actually his name was Michel. He was the grandson of Mariana Bonifay of Pensacola, Florida. I found during my family research that as the countries that occupied Alabama changed so did his first name. It appears as Michel, Michael, Mitchell and Miguel depending on which document your reading at the time, but his REAL name was Michel.

Thank you again for all your hard work.

RE: Valentine
Hi! I'd love to add them, Donna... but I don't manage the memorials for John Tanner's children. You'll have to request the links to be added through those who do manage those memorials. I've already sent suggestions for that to be done (ages ago). Sorry! Are you also a descendent?

RE: JOHN JACKSON BORDEN
John Jackson Borden was my grandfather. He and Dolly were married and raised several children(including my father). She was young when she died and I never knew her or any of her family. I have found some info on ancestry.com. My father had twin sibblings. The little boy only lived a few months. They lived in Franklin or Marion Co., Al when he died but I can't find where he was buried. the little girl was buried at Hubbard Salem Cemetary in Tishomingo County, Ms. beside Dolly. My grandfather later married Etna Phelps and was buried beside her in Oakgrove Cemetary in Iuka, Ms. They had two children.
I didn't know exactly what you wanted to know. Hope this helps.

I tried to make the correction, but if she is the child of Ida Vermell, it won't let me fix it. That will need to be done by Carolyn. Please let me know if I am not understanding your request. Thanks

Howell graves
Find A Grave Memorial# 34449873 and # 34449987 are the Lee and Stella Howell graves I am interested in. It appears you added all the Howell grave pictures in the Shady Grove Cemetery of George County, MS. I am trying to find out if these people are the parents of Eugenia Brewton Howell.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
