RE: Martha Hartzell
I believe that this Martha and John are my 3rd great-grandparents, but I'm having a hard time proving this theory, so I haven't actually put them in my family tree as of yet. I contacted you to see if you happened to have any additional information. Thanks for the quick reply though! Since you're son in law has the last name in his family, I suggest the West Finley Cemetery if his family is from around the Greene County and Washington County, Pennsylvania, area. There a lot of Hartzells buried there. Thanks again, Chelsea

Martha Hartzell
Hi. I recently noticed that you have left a flower on Martha Hartzell's memorial page in Slonaker Cemetery. I was wondering if you are a descendant of her and John's?

No problem. I'll probably have more updates as I'm working on a project dealing with the families of St. Columba's Church. I can get into more detail later.

You can use whatever you need. I was just at the orthopedic surgeon today. After 16 months he isn't happy with how things are going and is sending me for another MRI. He's hoping that I don't have to have a total knee replacement.

Kutschbach Headstone
Thank you very much for the photos of Elizabeth (Schneider) Kutschbach's headstone. Although there does not appear to be headstones for other Kutschbachs at St Martin's, I have found references where several Kutschbachs were buried there. Two of her daughters married Mahr and Wuenstel. It appears that the Wuenstel' were very involved at St Martins.

Through DNA, I am linked to Elizabeth through her husband, Fred(erick)August Kutschbach. I am trying to find a survivor of these families to see what they may know of the family roots in Germany.

Again, THANK YOU very much for your support.

PS I lived in Pittsburgh (Library) 1972-75. I wish I had known my links then as there appear to have been family there at that time.

Saint Martin's Cemetery
Hi, I have a question. I noticed that you have added photos to Saint Martin's Cemetery in Allegheny County, PA. Could you tell me if this is located on Elkton Street in Pittsburgh. I am trying to find this cemetery and can't figure out where it is. Thanks for any help! Barbara B.

RE: Ferrence Family
Hi there,

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of my grandfather's siblings. I wish I did. You did remind me of something - Theresa's obituary - and I posted it this evening.

Google has an online (free) newspaper search. I've already searched and searched, but then again sometimes you find nuggets on a second or third search that you didn't find initially.

~ Tracy :)

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 74899685
Thanks for the consideration and offer to add info to Theresa Laniewski's memorial. Please link her parents to the memorial. Her father was Stephen Feranec, Sr. Find A Grave Memorial# 124784005. Her mother was Ylona Feranec Find A Grave Memorial# 124784037. At some point the name evolved from Feranec to Ferrence. Once her parents' memorials are linked, her siblings will show up on her memorial automatically. I'm still researching her brothers Dominec Feranec and Michael Ferrence. Thanks. :)

Hi, may I please have ownership of Find A Grave Memorial# 74899685 (Theresa Ferrence Laniewski?) - Theresa was a sister of my grandfather Edward (Ignacious) Ferrence. I'm the daughter of Dolores (Ferrence) Leicher, Edward's daughter. Thanks much.

RE: Porters @ Harmony
From description, my grandmother didn't live very far away when I was a child. She was on Barkeyville-Clintonville Road. Know Calvert-Riddle, Cross, McKee and Clintonville M. E. cemeteries (also East Unity) but that's about it. Have visited the cemeteries in Barkeyville when up for Phipps reunions. Guess I stopped at Harmony once when I was up there. Nancy

There is some confusion and I'm checking to see if I'm right or the information given to me is right. The article is just after 1908 and 1912 articles (the family didn't put dates in the scrapbooks) but not as late as 1939 when the other Jane (daughter of James) died. I'll let you know when I get something checked out. Thanks for the trouble. Nancy

I'd love to have Catherine. Both the lady who made the page and the one who it was transferred to are my cousins. I'd love to sit and have a cup of coffee with you!And why is she in Harmony when her mom and dad are in Prairie? Hmmmm! I wish it were that easy to find all of my Millsop folks after the one line moved to OH. If you want email me Chekotah2001@yahoo.com. Thank you!!

Yes, you can use that date. Her parents (my gg grandparents) were James Hastings Bell and Mary Jane Hogg which I think are in Prairie Cemetery across the road but I can't prove it. Do they have a book? Anyway I'd love to put them together.

I wrote to someone to check story but I have that she was married to Finley Preston Surrena 69407005 29 Oct 1889. His first wife, Elizabeth Walter died in 1886. He is buried at Peters Chapel Cemetery, Nectarine, Venango County, Pa, just a few miles up the road from Prairie.

Kath has just about the whole family in but doesn't mention Jane. But I have her in 1900 census in Irwin Township, Venango County.

Thank you. Nancy

I'm not good with math so yes, use that date and I will too and tell my cousin. Her parents are James Hastings Bell and Mary Jane Hogg. These are my maternal GG grandparents. We do not yet know where they are buried. They could be there someplace or Prarie orů

In the 1870 census they are in Slippery Rock
In the 1880 census they are in Slippery Rock

And in 1850 census James is with his parents in Mercer Township, Butler Co.

Not sure where to look any more!!I wish I could come back home for a month in the summer and just travel the area. Sigh!!! Anyway thanks for the help.
