Laura Tully
Lucas Felton Edenfield
I got the message that Lucas Felton Edenfield died too recently to be buried in the cemetery and he is not in the cemetery index. I'll have to contact the person who created the memorial and ask her where she got the information. I'm finding out by requesting photos of memorials that have none, it appears many of our deceased relatives are not buried in the cemeteries listed on the memorials (some even have 2 memorials with a different cemetery on each one). Thank you for your help.

Dear Marie,
I can't thank you enough for taking the photo of Ella Wharton's headstone. This means so much to actually see her final resting place. From her headstone, I now know when she was born. Thank you, thank you!

Comment on Ayres Brooks Hodnett
I just viewed the memorial called Ayres Brooks Hodnett. (82422708) I saw your comment about him not being buried there. Do you have any suggestions as to where he may be? I want to be particularly careful with anything I add to my personal tree on this fellow. I see people questioning middle name, dob, dod, and location of burial.

I'm sorry, it was Sarah Frances Hodnett who married Rance O'Neal. They had an infant son who was buried at Long Cane Cemetery next to his grandparents, whose graves I just noticed that you maintain. (#62351359)

RE: Mary Hodnett Taylor
Hi, Marie! I'm so happy that you were excited to see the picture. That picture, and the one of her husband, was among a collection of pictures from my great-grandmother, Leila Williams O'Neal. I don't really know who Mary Hodnett Taylor is or how she might have been related to my great-grandmother. I think it is because she is related to Dr. Tom Taylor, who married my g-grandmother's aunt, Lizzie Williams Taylor. A lot of the pictures in that collection appear to have been passed down from Lizzie.

I also know that my great-grandfather's brother, Rance O'Neal, married a Hodnett. I think her name was Mary. That's as much as I know about the Hodnetts. I doubt there are any other Hodnett pictures in that collection since the one was probably only there because of her marriage to a Taylor. I sure do wish I could send them all to you so you could look!

I have posted several of the pictures of people whom I was able to identify. I posted them for just this reason, in the hope that somebody would be researching that person and would be excited to see a picture. So far you are the second person to message me who was excited to see a picture. I think that's just awesome!

RE: Vera Wilson Photo Request
Thanks for getting back to me. I am not frustrated, but deeply disappointed. That's all. All of my life (or most of it) mom mentioned Vera and the stories her grandma told her about Vera's very short life. All along, my mom didn't know where she was buried (happened before my mom was born) when I found that record at familysearch I was delighted to be able to tell my mom where she was. So, we'll just leave it at that....she's there in Oak Ridge....somewhere, but the best part is in heaven.

Thank you for all your help with this.

This memorial is the dublicate. The cemetery was created by Alton & Loudonia in 2008. Don't know how all the dublicated from 2006 got mixed in?

Vera Wilson Photo Request
Thank you for attempting to find Vera's grave. According to a death record at, Vera was buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery on June 23, 1925. Here is a link to that record: Do you know if there is a record of her burial in the cemetery records?
She was my mother's sister. The parents are not buried in that cemetery; Vera's mom is in Sunset Hill in Valdosta, and the dad's burial has not been located to date. Vera's parents divorced before 1930 and the dad is not found in the records after that.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

Joan Register
RE: Amy Catherine Lynn Thornton
I just know that she's buried there. When she died they buried her and her little girl baby together. My Mama said it was under a tree. She said that all the records were burned. She and her brothers went there to try and find her grave but could not. All of them are now gone but one. My Uncle Archie is still alive and so is his wife. But, I asked him and he doesn't know either. Sure wish we could find it. She died when my mother was 12 years old and she was the oldest child. Wish I could help... Joan Roberts Register
