Mary Hart
I am not the maker of the "no Cemetery" memorial for Mary Hart. I simply saw that Mary was linked to her husband and one child, and not the sons. However, as a side note, I don't know that this particular memorial is so bad. I am helping an 80 year old g-g-granddaughter of Isaac and Mary research her family. She was quite glad to know the probable burial town of Mary, information which is contained on Mary's memorial. It also gives me the information I need to possibly FIND her actual GRAVE by tellimg me I should look in the cemetery, mortuary, and newspaper records for the town mentioned. So, even though it was disappointing that the memorial maker's research had been unable to turn up a headstone, I wasn't DISSAPOINTED to find the memorial.

My email is ceh at grandecom dot net. This man had a pretty nefarious history. Not sure what we could put on the site. He was my wife's grandfather, born Lewis Leman Henson in Bell Co. TX. Lived in Stanton, Tx, married to Melissa Alta Henson, whom he left with four young children, taking with him, Alta's cash inheritance. His brothers, and one daughter attended his funeral, and I have this information first-hand from them. You never know what we can turn up if we start family-lookin' !

I had no idea just how huge this cemetery is.

Thank you for all your apparent hard work on this project. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and quantity of our working volunteers.

RE: Photos
Actually, only you took the photo, so without your photo, there would be nothing. Also, would you check your listings for John Sweeny and maybe his wife Carissa. I had these flagged as possible duplicates and just received an email from someone today wanting me to let you know that John Sweeny is a duplicate. Thank you

RE: Photos
Thank you, I took a pile today, but still have tons more to do. This little project is getting closer and closer to being done. I have to tell you about Alexander Thomson #126358198 and his wife Gertrude. You posted the picture of the headstone. Anyway, today when I was out there I did not see the headstone. I'm not sure if it's missing or if the sexton is doing work on it. Anyway, I plan to bring it to his attention. And if it is missing, thank goodness you took a posted the picture of it. I read an article that claims in the tourist months at least one thing a day is either taken from the VC cemetery or the Lone Mountain Cemetery. I think I will plan on taking a few more trips out there this summer to help keep an eye on the place during the weekends.

Thank you so much for correcting me on where she was buried. I only had family information, and I am happy to correct my error and to know she has a headstone

Excuse me, but I'm curious why you posted a photo of the Pierce monument at the memorial for James R. Taylor? Just wondering...

Dear Suzy and Rob,

I looked for the first time for my great uncle's grave this evening, and thanks to your having put up a memorial, I found it. I was stunned to see that you added this memorial (143600098) just four days ago.

You have some good information on him - I'm curious where you got it, it's almost like he's your family, too, but I don't think that's possible, since he didn't marry. By the way, we still have a bed in my house that he made.

I'd like to link his memorial to his mother's, father's and brother's memorials - should I just send you the information? If you'd like to transfer his memorial to me that would be fine, and it's fine if you'd rather not. I'll just wait to hear from you. Thanks!

Duplicates
Thank you, I didn't realize it was a duplicate. I knew I saw a photo somewhere. Now I will double check on the other ones to see if that is the case with those as well. One day I hope to have all the duplicates removed.

Missing photos?
I was wondering if you are removing photos from Lone Mountain? I have walked all of the old section and had in my notes that a picture of the grave for Myrtle G. Smith at 1B-13-5 already existed. However, today when her name came up the picture of the grave is now gone. This isn't the first time I have noticed this, so I was wondering if for any reason you might be getting rid of some of the photos you had previously posted for Lone Mountain?

RE: Ellen Amelia Brophy
I have the 1934 obit stating that her burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles. I also wanted to get specific location information (section, row, plot), but an inquiry to the email address listed on Calvary's website bounced with an error message that the email address does not exist.

At some point the creator of her memorial will, hopefully, add the burial information. I'll resubmit the edit again when that happens, provided you are willing to process it. If you require additional documentation, I can scan the 1934 obituary indicating place of interment and send the scan to you.

I have no interest in the genealogy of the Brophys but I do have an interest in Arizona history, and they have been a prominent family in the state for well over a hundred years. My interest is only in completeness for the sake of future local historians and family members who may be searching for interment details. Having the family links will save them the time they would have to otherwise spend searching name by name.

RE: Frank Brophy
According to Ellen Amelia Brophy's obituary, which appeared in The Arizona Republic in June 1934, burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles. I conveyed this information to the creator of her memorial prior to suggesting the edit to you.

This is my Great Uncle and I have found TWO find-a-grave memorial numbers for him with the proper dates. Memorial #107604715 has him buried in Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery and Memorial #81881961 has him buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Bisbee. Any clue as to where he really is buried?
Thanks!

RE: John Humphrey Peake
Thank you, now we can get a proper stone placed, it may take awhile. I do hope you will one day find your 2x great grandfather. Seems like it becomes a mission to search them out. Took me some time. One thing I would suggest, on your memorial pages of your family, place an invite for "cousins or members of the family name to contact you". I have done this, and nearly every years brings me one or two more cousins that have information and pictures. Just last week that happened, now I know what my ggrandparents looked like. Good luck.

John Humphrey Peake
memorial #59616736

Just talked with my cousin In El Paso, she explained the mystery of the writing on the stone. She said her husband often takes a magic marker and highlights the letters, but when it rains the ink bleeds. Now that explains it clearly. I kept thinking why would vandals try and spell his name.........vandals would just gradate whatever! Now we know, and will be working to get a proper CSA stone set this year. He was a Surgeon in the Confederate.

Thanks for your making us aware of what was happening.
