I don't know
what I'm doing! LOL I know I sent some requests for additions to several of the McHenry Co, IL Richardson folks but now I'm so hot and tired I can't think any longer.
I hope you might remember me from the forums here. I can no longer access them and fear I will lose more of the memorials I had entered as that's what happened the last time.
Anyway, that's for all you do on F.A.G.

Minnie Jensen
Can you tell me the best way to locate the headstone for Minnie Jensen, buried in Lake Forest Cemetery? The poor kid came from Denmark in 1899 to help her half-sister, my Grandmother, Anna Jensen Larsen, take care of her two kids, ages 3 and 6. Minnie had an appendicitis attack and died within days at Alice Home hospital at the age of 17, in 1903. There is a big headstone for the Larsens in the old part of the cemetery. Maybe it is over that way.

RE: Otis or Otheo Hayes in LF
Does the burial book list a plot or birth/death dates for "Ottis"? If it helps: Otheo's marker is in section E, in the first row on west most edge (along the chain link fence) about the middle of that north/south running row; it is three markers away from Albert & Eva Virden and two away on the other side from Helen MacGregor Faithfull/Elizabeth Phelps. Otheo's mother Edna Mae Hayes d. 1944 and brother Nathaniel Hayes d. 1942 are also buried in Lake Forest but do not have stones near Otheo (are they listed in section E?). Otheo and his father share the same name (they are Sr. and Jr.) and are shown in various census/death/work records as O. Titus, Otheo T., and Titus, which in variation could then be in the cemetery record book as "Ottis". ??

RE: Edward Geisler at Lake Forest, IL
You are right. I've taken 20,000 stone photos and frequently find an open slot on the death and the person is over 100. Turns out they re-married after their spouses death. I also could check the cemetery records for him in Utah.

RE: McGrew's in Lake Forest
Thanks for checking on my Frances McGrew. She died at age 38 in Evanston IL. Perhaps she had gone there for treatment of some sort and never made it back to Lake County. Dr. McGrew remarried and then they went on to have a child, perhaps named Danielle. By 1940, baby was two years old and he had a whole new life. He didn't live very long either, just 50 years old. Life was very precarious in those days. I'll keep looking for Frances. Thanks again.

McGrew, Donald John
Thanks you for posting this burial. I notice another person posted a duplicate within a few days of yours. Coincidence? Anyway, you have Mr. McGrew's date of birth. Was it in the cemetery records? I ask because I'm looking for his first wife, Frances Ruth Holiday McGrew who died in 1933. He later married his second wife who you also kindly posted, Elizabeth Christine Holtenhoft. Sure would like more info on these folks but don't want to inconvenience you. I will request a photo in hopes of more detail. Again, thank you very much!

Thanks for the reply. I misspelled Noyes, I always do that. Mason was their late hatch. There are 12 years between him and Claressa. My grand-mother Martha Coquillette Valentine was named after Mason's daughter. Mason's name is his mothers maiden name.
More on Abijah, his sons William and John are at Richmond Cemetery.

Thanks again,
Barry Valentine

Other children in Richmond Cemetery are:
Mary Thomas Noyse
Mason Thomas
While Abijah Thomas (1825-1875) died at Richmond but does not show he is buried there. Possibly his grave is unmarked? I know of no other place he could be.
Thank you for your attention.
Barry Valentine, 3rd great-grand son of Briggs Thomas

John Dowie
Hi there!

John Dowie is not buried in Lake Forest Cemetery by his wife Helen. There is a headstone there - with no death date. I inquired at the office, and they indicated he is not there, and that the plot where Helen Dowie is buried and John's headstone was owned by Mr and Mrs. Low - who were also from Scotland. If you have any information as to where John is buried, I'd love to know!!

thank you!

You are welcome! I too, enjoyed reading them. Some of the old obits can be very interesting.
I also submitted auto edits for both of them.

RE: Thanks a lot for going to Graceland!
I enjoy the history that goes with taking photographs. Thanks for your work and giving me that opportunity, I suspect you took a photo yourself. It is in a poorly lit location. Graceland's 100K burials will not be finished in my lifetime I don't believe. I may try though. Regards, Bob Lerch
