| Johnnye Pressley photo request Hi, the volunteers would be happy to fill your photo request however we will need a burial location to do so. Can you please contact Laurel Land and get a burial location for your request? The number is 214 371 1336
or the email link is: http://www.laurellanddallas.com/home/contact_us.html
There are over 447 photo requests currently and the volunteers cannot ask for that many locations to fill requests. With a location, your request will get filled pretty quickly. Thanks for your help!Added by TLH on Jun 02, 2013 3:29 PM

| Gathings at Covington Hi Judy, thank you much for linking James J Jr with his parents. I am a Gathings family researcher - I am related to the Gathings at Covington very distantly. I have studied this family for about 12-14 years. I am reviewing their Find A Grave memorials and will be submitting messages with additional info which can be added to their memorials. I will submit the request thru the edit tab on each memorial. Please let me know if there is a way which is easier for you to work with. Also, if you have any questions regarding the info I submit, just let me know. I will have a document showing the details and will be able to send it to you. Thank you so much for your time in building these memorials. Take care and God Bless - Gwen Gathings ArmstrongAdded by Gwendolyn Gathings Armstr... on Mar 01, 2013 6:59 AM | |

| Robert Pate Photo request Hi, the volunteers are happy to fill your photo request, however we need a burial location in order to do so. The cemetery is very huge and is not very cooperative with the volunteers from findagrave. Can you call them and get the burial location? The number is 972 238 7111. Once you get the burial location you can message me and I can make sure it gets added and that the photo request is filled ASAP. thanks!Added by TLH on Jan 25, 2013 9:24 PM | |

| RE: Sanchez in Ojo Caliente Estaca (stake) is still there between Lyden and El Guique. The name referred to stockades that were used by a detachment of soldiers once posted there. Estaca has a little capilla with a solitary grave for Antonio Martinez (#90107386).
Lyden used to be called El Bosque (forest or thicket). It's unknown how it got it's current name. I suspect maybe a one time stop on the Chili Line, a former railway that ended in 1943.
I do know that feeling of "connection". It's part of my addiction to genealogy and grave walking. My most profound feeling came on the top of a pyramid in Xochimilco, Mexico. It's one of those feelings that escape definition.Added by truchasnm on Oct 21, 2012 9:30 AM

| RE: Sanchez in Ojo Caliente La Villita de La Joya (Little Village of the Basin) would be Velarde's original name. David Velarde operated the first post office there and that is how La Joya became Velarde. Another place called La Villita is adjacent to Alcalde, but never would have been referenced as La Joya. Velarde does sit like a basin just prior to entering the Rio Grande Gorge. Great apples from this area!Added by truchasnm on Oct 18, 2012 1:05 AM | |

| Robert Pate Judy, I would be happy to take photos of Robert Pate's headstone for you, but first I need you to call the Restland Cemetery office at 972-238-7111 and get a grave location for me. This cemetery is quite large, and without a location, a specific grave would be impossible to find. Let me know when you get the location, and I will go out and take the photos. Thanks, JenniferAdded by Jennifer Williams on Oct 16, 2012 11:18 PM | |

| RE: Sanchez in Ojo Caliente PS
I've been meaning to get out to Velarde (La Joya) to complete my photos of this cemetery. The older section mostly had wooden markers, which have all burned or rotted away and many of the stone markers have eroded, but I'll do my best to fill your photo requests for this cemetery.

| RE: Sanchez in Ojo Caliente Judy,
I took the photo a couple of years ago. I've photographed a lot of the cemeteries in this area and am backlogged on loading the photos. But, I do try to follow up as frequently as I can. Maybe this weekend I can drive over to Ojo Caliente, not very far, and retake the photo (and others). Thanks for sharing your website. As long as it's a non-profit site, you have my permission to post my photos there. It is a good site. Although I have a better inventory of the Santa Cruz District, I do have some San Juan records. I'll explore if I have anything to contribute to your Luis Maria Sanchez line.
Best regards,
AntonioAdded by truchasnm on Oct 15, 2012 5:30 AM

| Re: Allie Watson My cemetery book lists her for the Ebony Cemetery, row 5 grave 9 and I know Johnny Egger who has her listed there and he wouldn't have listed her unless he knew she was there. Sometimes it is easy to overlook a marker unless you have a record of the exact spot. Leave you request up and if noone else can find it I will attempt to do so.Added by Pete "PAPPY" Miles on Apr 04, 2012 12:20 PM | |
