We're waiting til fall to come to Phoenix for a short trip . . . LOL, two summers ago on vacation we were traveling in July/August and could not get any place that the temp was under about 105 in the midwest . . . so we headed to Albuquerque where it was only 99. This year we have been luckier on our trips, staying in the high 80's and 90's. Nice here in SoCal right now. Thanks for making the change. I was going to request a photo so glad I called for the location. Try to keep cool.

RE: Thome
Mary Thome: father: John Thome mother:Augusta Boecking grandfather: Matthias Thome grandmother: Anna Rau

Matthias Thome came from Germany sometime in the late 1840's or early 1850's. He came to Limestone Township, Peoria County, IL. In 1859 he married Anna Rau. They had: Marian Catherine Thome (Bour), Mary Thome (Wilhelm), Nicholas Thome, and John Thome (Mary Thome Trendle's father). John was a coal miner in Limestone Township - he married Augusta Boecking. They had 3 children - Mary Thome (Trendle), Elizabeth Thome (McKenzie) (Nance) and Nicholas Thome (my grandfather). Augusta Boecking Thome Died when the children were young. John & his children lived with his brothers and sister-in-laws (the Boeckings) in East Peoria, IL. He remarried, but left the children in East Peoria.

I have a family tree on ANCESTRY.COM. with an early photo of the Mary, Elizabeth & Nicholas.

Theodore,

I can't add any information to this memorial. Only your cousin can do it. Once a transfer has been made, the person who created the memorial gives all rights to add information.

Crystal (Boylen) Boggs
Stone/Patterson/Salmon
Hello - I have greatly enjoyed you information and photos you have shared on Find-A-Grave. Particularly for Miranda (Patterson) Stone at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=11672809.

I am not sure if you are related to the Stones or not but I was wondering if you ever came across information such as a grave location or photos of Miranda's step-father Roderick Salmon. It appears he died in Wisconsin as well although most of his life he lived in Medina Co., Ohio with Rosina.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I'll keep an eye out for her if we wander through that cemetery, just in case I missed her. Lebo was very big on erecting monuments for their infants, and there are an extraordinary number of them.

Elizabeth Chalmers Disher
Thank you for the extra pictures of the Disher family. I am not very good on a computer and don't know how to add things so I would like to tell you that Elizabeth Disher, nee Chalmers was born 3 April, 1852, Govan, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She went to the USA on the ship Tuscania out of Glasgow and arrived Ellis Island 20 October, 1923 at age 70. Manifest Line # 0022. She came with her husband Thomas Cairns Disher. Manifest Line #0021. He was 75. My father remembers them coming in a horse and cart to our village of Inchinnan in Scotland to say goodbye to family. I found obituary for Elizabeth in a California newspaper. It said: In San Fransisco 20 November, 1930 Elizabeth, loving wife of late Thomas Disher and loving mother of Robert, Thomas, Andrew, John and William Disher and Mrs. Helen Grant, Mrs. Margaret MacIntosh and Mrs. Bessie Stewart. A native of Scotland and was age 78. The funeral was Saturday 22 at 2pm at Anderson's, Valencia and 25th St. San Fransisco. Internment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. Was so lovely to finally see a pictue of my great grand parents. Thanks, Elizabeth Landry

Thomas Cairns Disher
Someone pointed me to your site and I found a picture of my great grandparents Thomas Cairns Disher and Elizabeth Chalmers. Thank you so much. That is the first time I have seen what they looked like. Their youngest son William Chalmers Disher born about 1890 in Renfrew, Scotland is my grandpa but he disappeared a short time after moving to California. He sent money to my grannie for her and the chidren to go to the States but she would not leave her mother because her father had just died and shortly after her refusal she heard no more from her husband. His father told grannie that William had moved to Pennsylvania and that they had lost touch with him. I have never quite believed that story. I think my grandpa just made a new life for himself but my son and I have searched for years and found nothing on him. My father was in the Merchant Navy and on occasion went around to California and visited some of the family but he could never find any information on his father. We moved to Canada in l957 and were sponsored by a cousin of Elizabeth Disher, nee Birrell. Thank you again for this great site. I had all the birth dates but you supplied the death dates. Thank you, Elizabeth Landry, (nee Disher)

Hi Theodore, glad I was able to get the photo. It was in the shade, so it did not show the lettering to clear.
