|Moonstone||RE: Bridgett Parkes|
Since Bridget Parkes is actually buried in Calvary, it seems that her memorial should be there only. If you'd like to update your original to reflect this that'd be great -or if you'd like to transfer her to my care that would be good too. Either way, pls let me know. Thx for all the work you have done on Find A Grave!

|L Winslow||Name convention|
I see that you have a number of memorials with the age as the nickname, as in John "21" Smith. The age should be shown in the bio or as the marker transcription -
Anyway - thank you so much for adding all these memorials.

The Mary Perkins 101642085 is buried with her husband Benjamin Perkins at the Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Cumberland, Maine, USA. There is a headstone that I took a picture that is on her Evergreen Cemetery site. 116907569

Just a question...why do you put the individuals age in the name section? Just wondering why..it should be entered in the bio section

|Marianne J. Chapman||Samuel Blake|
The record I have from the city of Portland lists Samuel's date of death as February 14, 1846, AEt. 52 Years,5 m. I believe this was probably taken from the "Maine Historical & Genealogical Recorder", Vol.4,1887, contributed by Isaac Cobb which shows the original inscription on his memorial stone. I also included this inscription in my blog.

|JJH||Stephen Patrick memorial|
I added a photo to a memorial you created for Stephen Patrick (#101642018) in the Western Cemetery in Portland, ME.
The memorial has a note of "gravesite lost" but I believe this is inaccurate as the DOB and DOD on the stone calculates to "70 yrs".
Can you double-check the photo and information and if you think it's correct, then you can update some of the information. Otherwise, just let me know and I'll remove the photo.

The mystery of this memorial is that I only took photos of the headstone for a request. Why it was transferred to me, again is a mystery. The originator was Andrew L. so he is the one that needs to follow up with the cross referencing or whom ever else created memorials for this family. You'll note that below the photo that I posted on Marie Westcott's memorial 63083313 I added -
If Marie is indeed buried in this cemetery she may be in the unmarked spot between Pharley & George on the left or between George & Oliver on right. George is the tall headstone in the middle. I'll be more than happy to delete her memorial. Let me know. I have no connection to this family. Thanks Betty Jane

I was wondering if you could remove the following people from the Western Cemetery in Portland Maine as that grave had been moved to the Evergreen Cemetery in Portland Maine years ago and they seem to be listed there.

Sally H #101711445 in Evergreen #119674287
Francis e #101711439 in Evergreen #119674424

Hi Linda, I took photos at the George Street Cemetery today and when I started entering them, I noticed you have two entries for Mary Higgins. I placed my photos on the one numbered 104839745. Do you want to remove the other? Where did you find the listing of names for this cemetery? There weren't many stones left and some were unreadable. Thanks for all your work - Diane

Linda, I went to the Portland Library and found records as well. For some reason it lists two plots for one of the brothers, I now have a printed map and will go back and double check both plots and then see if I can give any info from the contact info you gave me. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Hi there, I found your listing for a relative but when I went to search for the stone I found what I believed to be the correct plot but no gravestone, nor was there one for his brother Horatio. Did you just post info from a book or do you actually go to the cemeteries? I did find a second plot number as well as the one you list, C15, listed for Horatio in a book at the Portland Library so I will return and try to locate it.

I had thought that Nancy Chace married Jesse Shackford b. 1808 d. Nov 5, 1878.
He married (2) Sarah G Hamilton b. 1820 died Jan 20, 1878. I don't have that marriage certificate but they are shwon in the 1860 census together.
Hope this is helpful. Thanks again for the photos of east coast gravestones.. Helps out those of us in the west.

|Charlie Morgan||Elizabeth Allen|
Thanks for your suggestion that there might be duplicate entries for Elizabeth Allen in the Western Cemetery. However, I'm not sure that they are duplicates, although two people of the same name with the same date of death does strike me as being pretty unusual. Do you have access to the original Western Cemetery records for purposes of verifying that there was only one?
Please take a look at the entries at the bottom of this page and the top of the page next following this page (copy and paste this into your browser):
Are you saying that there is a mistake in this source, too?
