Beene Cemetery
I see that you have Beene Cemetery listed in your virtual cemeteries. My husband, Jim Lee has ancestors buried there, in the South Pittsburg, TN cemetery

Icy P Hendrix Ross
I saw the memorial page for Icy and was wondering if you are related? My ancestor Lucinda Elizabeth Cambell was the sister of Harriett Newell Cambell Hendrix. Please reply.

I don't believe the 1945 date is the loss date, but the date he was declared dead. That seems to have been from 1-2 years after the loss in many of these cases.

Hi:
I think the birth date for Grover Oscar TRAYLER should be the 24th, not the 4th.
Thanks,
Tom

Hello,

My husband and I are going to the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell this weekend. I will look for this headstone while there.

I see you are related to Allreds? Elijah (1801-1868) was my ggg-grandfather through his son John Julian, his son Onie Roy, his daughter Ellen, then my mother.

Very nice to meet you! Kim

I don't understand. The stone says birth date of 25 SEP 1880. Which is correct?

Thomas Ivie Hendrix
Hi Kathy & Andy,

I see you added a memorial for Thomas Ivie Hendrix. The Gold Ridge community is not very far from Simcoe. I was born in Cullman Co and have ancestors who lived in both communities. Ivy C "Tucker" Hendrix lived in Simcoe very near his half brother, my gg-gf, and is buried at Simcoe Bapt Ch. I added a memorial for him and many of his children today. Is Thomas Ivie descended from him? I've tried to locate Thomas Ivie in my files but the closest match I've come up with is Ivey, b. 1912, son of William P, and I'm pretty sure that's not the right match.

Best regards,
Debbie

RE: Chester Driskell
Thank you for adding the information.

I was searching for something recently when the wikipedia article popped up about the Texas City disaster. I got completely off track from what I was searching for and started reading about Texas City.

I was barely 9 years old when this disaster happened. We did not have TVs only radio and newspapers. I am sure my parents were aware when it happened but I don't remember hearing about it.

I have created a virtual cemetery for the victims. I have found about 50 to 60. It will take some time to find all the information. I have found that a few of them were buried in other states, which surprised me. Some of them have a notation that they died from the disaster, but a lot of them don't mention how they died.

On one of the websites it says, "Lest We Forget". I am sure most of this generation has never heard of it. So Sad!

Thanks again...

It is not necessary to transfer it to me. But, I think you for your time. Their relative told me she went back and made a memorial for him after I contacted you. She was not aware that he did not have a memorial.

Oh you're welcome. Glad to be able to add something. There was one other one, Mable Coleman, that I sent a message about that needs the links as well. So sad how they lost so many children so early. Here's the email. Thanks again for all the work you do.
