RE: Julia Ann Kelley headstone
Hi Chris,
We did notice the improved state of cemetery - having tried to photograph some stones that were in the midst of some rose bushes and crawling under the low branches of a tree to locate John Richardson's gravestone.

It was a beautiful day there yesterday!

RE: Not Eva Huntley
Thank you for looking, but I had already found the death record for Eva. I'm looking for the stepmother, Victoria, not Eva. They were sisters.
Eva Wilcox was Raymond's first wife. After she died of TB, he married her sister, Victoria Wilcox. Phyllis, James, Myrtle and Milton were borne by Eva. Then Raymond and Victoria had Clarence and Winslow.
I have asked the memorial managers for Eva to link her to Raymond and to list both wives. Also, I should have all 6 children linked to Raymond soon. But --alas, no Victoria. All I know is Victoria died sometime between the birth of Clarence, 1923, and the 1930 Census, when Raymond is listed as a widow. I couldn't come up with her death record on Ancestry. I appreciate your efforts. Diane

RE: Doyle Island Cemetery
Hi Chris, made the correction to John A Doyle's memorial page, it now reads, died at sea. Do you know where? What a wonderful surprise to find that you had fulfilled all those Doyle Island Cemetery gravestone photos! I don't think either of us ever dreamed that they would be fulfilled due to the location of the Cemetery. Much gratitude is due to your sister, Phyllis and the gals that help them. They are amazing and I sure hope they know how much we appreciate all their very hard work of getting to the Island, cleaning all those stones and taking such wonderful photographs. Their efforts are indeed so appreciated by all us hard at work family genealogists. Thanks Chris for all you do, it's such a privilege working with you, even if you are family :) Esther

Yeah, her father's stone says "Dobbins" and I can find stuff both ways, it's hard to choose - haha! E

RE: Dobbin/Dobbins
Hi Chris, this family is all over the place with this Dobbin/Dobbins. I took the Dobbins for Mary Ellen from the Cemetery Listing page. I will look for a birth cert. and if it's with the "s", I'll change the listing but if not it will remain. Esther

RE: Photos & Old Stones
Hi Chris, the photos you took this year, while in Jonesport, are gorgeous. Since you wrote up the West Jonesport Cemetery initially, perhaps you might go on (I think only the originator can access the notes) and thank Dianna & Phyllis for all their very hard but much appreciated work in preserving all these old stones. We sure are indebted to all their efforts, wow, what an undertaking for family and history! Cuz Esther

Hi! Thanks so much for taking the photo of my Nana's grave for me! She died when I was only 10 and I had never seen her gravesite. Getting the link to the picture today was very timely. Her family just had a reunion on Saturday 8/17. There were over 100 of us there. The cousins took up a collection a few years ago to pay for her headstone. Now I can share with them what the money bought!

Sign me,
Shirley Gower's grateful eldest granddaughter,
Shirley Nickerson

RE: Amanda Church
Forest City Cemetery is in the city of South Portland, very close to Cape Elizabeth town line. I do not believe there is a Forest City cemetery in Cape Elizabeth. Is it possible that Church is her maiden name, and that she is interred under her married name? Would she be buried next to anyone else? The office's records are usually very accurate.

hi,

I believe the names as I have them are the way they are on the stone(could be wrong) which makes it easier for people to find and photograph it. I can put the full name in the bio until I get a pic of the stone to see exactly how it reads. Find A Grave prefers that the name reads as on the stone. thanks for the help
