Joel Wells Family Cemetery
Hi Sue,

Here is your note regarding directions to the Joel Stowe Family Cemetery.

I remember taking the Davis-Wells Cemetery. I accessed it not along a road but through a field. And the only reason I found it was because it had been
recently logged. And that it took me 2 trys. Do you have more detailed directions for getting to the cemetery other than off Stowe Lane across
Pudding Creek?

Sorry for being late in responding.

Here is the info that I received from Judy Stowe:

From Danville take Franklin Turnpike (hwy 41)
Turn right on Dry Fork Road (hwy 718), go approx 1 mile.

Turn left on Stowe Lane (hwy 1025), drive across the Pudding Creek (no bridge), go 50 feet.

On right side of road, walk across the field to the woods, cemetery is in the left corner of the woods.

Judy Stowe lives near the cemetery and has relatives in the cemetery.

Her email address is

Thanks for you help.

Best regards,

Joel Stowe Family Cemetery
Hi Sue,

I noticed that you had photographed the grave markers at the Davis-Wells Cemetery on Stowe Lane near Dry Fork. And, they are excellent. Thank you for doing this for our family.

There is a second cemetery, Joel Stowe Family Cemetery, which is very close to Davis-Wells. It needs to be photographed, too.

If you have time, would you be kind enough to photograph the grave makers there?

There are about 10 - 15 people buried in the cemetery. I am especially interested in William Addison Wells Find A Grave 94981620, who is buried there. His wife Lelia Ellen Stowe Wells Find A Grave 94982285 is buried in the Davis-Wells Cemetery.

Driving directions to the Joel Stowe Family
Cemetery are on Find A Grave.

My email address is

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Jack Mitchell

Shelton Cemetery
Thank you for the work you have done on my Wells family in the Shelton Cemetery. I am curious to know, what is the white material you used on the headstones that makes the letters stand out? I would like to try this if you can tell me.

Thank you,
Patricia Wells-O'Neil

RE: John Robert RAGAN 1840
Sorry for any confusion. I started to send a response earlier and something happened. I am related to this family. It would be easier to send me an email at Then I can give a more complete response. It can get a bit confusing and this would be easier for me. As information, I do not know where the graves are for John J. Reagan and Nancy, but I can explain more.

RE: PAYNE, James Leroy 1917-1917 tombstone
Thank you very much. I was at the cemetery last week for a funeral and checked James' stone.
I had the correct dates written down but apparently when I entered the info in Find A Grave I hit 27 instead of 17. My apologies.

RE: Cemetery Duplication
From my understanding, there are two different cemeteries, the one across the road from the church front door & the one across the other road(969) are indeed different. The one I did was across the road on the 969 side, none of those were entered, but the ones across from the front of the church were, there were no duplicates involved.
I originally called the one I entered Jefferson_Wells Cemetery as they were the first buried, but Jack Mitchell duplicated many entries as Tabernacle, as he is related to the Wells family & this family was the ones that donated the land for the church to be built. Thus at that time it was called Tabernacle. I transfered most of my memorials to him as they were his family members.
You could contact him as he is a family member & knows the story very well. As for the ones like the Jake Amos you duplicated, I would just delete for the entire cemetery has been done, whether it be one or two, Larry

You seem to made two Memorials for the same person.
#110932752 With a photo and
#110932729 with no pix (probably should delete it.)
I was just looking for any without pictures to see
if I could do any to help.
