Stephen Homesley
Greetings Mike,
Would you mind deleting the picture of the Stephen Homesley home place (page 15 of my book)that you added to Find A Grave Memorial #52448811 for Stephen Homesley. I have added the original photograph and it is a much clearer and better image, and we won't be violating any copyright laws. Plus it will make his memorial look a lot better. He is my GGGG-Grandfather.
Thanks,
Rita Wehunt-Black

Pvt. Daniel Stroup
Mike,
May I use the picture of the Stroup home for Pvt. Daniel Stroup's Memorial (120022866).
Do you know the Stroup's in Spruce Pine, NC? They have Stroup's Hobby Shop. We have a GF Clock that they made.

Eric Baker
Husbands of Laura Stroup
Mike: I have seen your wonderful photo of Laura Stroup Morrison and her family. Please let me know if I have the following information correct. Laura Stroup was first married to John Morrison (1839-1874). John and Laura had a son named John Matthew Morrison. Laura remarried to Alexander Morrison. Was this a brother of John Morrison? Do you know where the first husband John Morrison is buried?
John Matthew Morrison, (1868-1947),son of John Morrison and Laura Stroup is buried in Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. I do not manage his memorial page but I recently added to the page two photos which you should find of interest. There is no question that the John Matthew Morrison in my group photo is the same person as the John Matthew Morrison in your group photo. John Matthew Morrison was first married to Maud Marrietta Woodward. My son-in-law is a Woodward.
I would like to submit edits linking John Matthew Morrison to Laura Stroup Morrison and if possible to John Morrison if his grave can be located. I look forward to hearing from you. Eric Baker, Durham, North Carolina

Stroupe family link
Mike, do you have a any info on a Sarah (Sallie) Lawe? She had a daughter named Mary Jane(Jain) Stroupe 1848-15 Jul 1916. Sarah would be my 4th great grandmother and Mary is my 3rd great grandmother.

Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery/Stanley Cemetery
Mike- I am trying to sort out some confusion (certainly on my part and maybe others!) and am hoping you might be able to help.
(By the way our family trees intersect with the Sadlers and Stroupes in Gaston Co.)
I was at Christ Lutheran/Stanley Cemeteries yesterday. It appears to me that Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery is a separate cemetery from the adjacent Stanley Cemetery but I may be incorrect. They are separate on F-A-G as you probably know but that does not mean much!. I do, however, have a Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery plat map which clearly shows that this cemetery ends at the Tabernacle Parking Lot. I have also found numerous death certificates for Stanley Cemetery which correspond with markers I found yesterday in the cemetery on the far side of the parking lot.
I inventoried and photographed the entire Stanley Cemetery yesterday and am in the process of loading all of that info on F-A-G. Many of the memorials I am posting are also in F-A-G's Christ
Lutheran Cemetery so for now I am creating a number of duplicates. I will delete all of my duplicates as soon as all of this is sorted out and any memorials that should be moved are moved.
Please let me know if you know anything that might be of help in sorting this out. My only objective is to get it right.
Regards

Jack Brannon
Amanda Jane Hill
Mike,

You and the Stroup(e) family have accomplished a great deal of recorded family history.

I am connected by way of Amanda Jane Hill, a daughter of my gggrandUncle Rev. Wade Hill. At present, I am compiling a book on the Descendants of Rev. Wade Hill and his brother Jonathan Hill (Bryson City, Swain Co., NC). I hope you don't mid me downloading gravestone pictures for that section of my book. The family picture with Daivd C. & Amanda Hill Stroup is a tresure in itself.

Jeff Young
Jacob Stroup
Hi, my name is Jeff Young. My wife has been researching my genealogy on Ancestry.com and has found that Jacob Stroup is my 4th great grandfather.

I see that you have posted a photo of Jacob Stroup's gravestone. I recently went to Goodson Cemetery and was unable to locate this grave. The cemetery is now very overgrown and many of the graves are hidden by brush and kudzu. Did you take this photo, or if not, are you positive it came from Goodson? I was thinking of returning to the cemetery later to do more searching, but wanted to be sure this is the correct location to search.

Thanks for your help!
Jeff

Re: Helen Stroup
Hi Mike,

I contacted my cousin, Sheila Kuntz@yahoo.com, Helen Stroup's daughter living north of Charlotte, NC and told her of your contact with me. She sent me the following message to pass on to you. Helen passed away several years ago.

Momma's mother's name was Hazeline Stephens Stroupe and I believe since her only son's name was Howard Stroupe that he must have been named after his father. I never new my grandfather because he and my grandmother divorced when Momma was real young. I do know that he moved to California and that he worked for years for either Good Rich Tire or Goodyear Tire Co. I understand he was quite up there on the corporate ladder. Right now, I'm not even sure there is an "e" on the end of the name. I keep forgetting which way it is, but I can find out for sure if you like.

You may contact her at the above email address.

Regards,
Guard
