|Larry & Susan M.||RE: Telsie Marie Hughes|
Telsie Marie was George's second wife; they had a son together George Thomas Jr. (Tommy). I think they were probably married in the mid 1960's because Tommy is around 49 now. Marie's son Lewis from her first marriage was my son's father. George and Marie are buried together in the veterans cemetery; as is customary her information is on the back of George's headstone. I don't know anything about his first marriage because he was married to Marie when I met him; except that he did have a daughter from his first marriage.

|Cheryl Ayres||Re: Leslie Cook|
I would be most glad to add his siblings to his memorial but you must have already deleted your memorial so I do not have the names. I have changed the spelling to Cook but his death certificate has Cooke. I cannot tell you if there is a gravestone. I added memorials from a cemetery book. I have photographed the oldest sections of the cemetery which was the old IOOF Cemetery. I do plan to start photographing the rest of the cemetery in late spring & summer, the cemetery has over 10,000 burials which is a pretty big task.

|Deb McCallister||RE: James Warner Baxter|
Go ahead and use any pictures I post. I am so proud of my family! James was so handsome and popular but had a sad ending to his life. He grew up with my mom's family as his mother died right when he was born and mom's Grandma Ada had custody of him. Have a good week!

Was she a brother of Lorenzo Dow "L.D." Lafferty buried in Alpine Cemetery, Osage County, Ks? He named a daughter Mary Jane. R.

Thanks for information. Do you know the identity of her parents? If you would like this site, I would be happy to transfer. Richard

|Michael & Jennifer McBride||Asberry Chapman Beam dates|
I got your message questioning the death date for A. C. Beam. It appears the date of Oct 29 is certainly incorrect based on the obituary posted on his memorial. The fact that his birth year on the headstone is incorrect adds additional suspicion on the death day.
The 1860 census shows him as two years old which is supported by the obit when you calculate backwards from Oct 17, 1940. It appears the birth day of July 4 on the headstone is probably correct but not the year. The 1860 census was recorded in August, so he would have had his second birthday by then if he was born in July 1858.
I have corrected my records to show his death date as October 17, 1940. I presume the current headstone was placed quite a while after his death since it looks like a more modern design than ones from 1940.

|Cheryl Ayres||Re: Nettie (Beam) Devers|
Gravestones would have married names. Findagrave has a spot for the maiden name which is why Beam is italicized. Please read the rules, no where is it stated that females should be listed under maiden names. Personal family trees? Yes, they are listed under maiden names but not in cemeteries. It is fine if you want to use as a personal family tree but use the proper cemetery transcription (married name) with the italicized maiden name & link to their parents if they have a memorial.

Hello Connie. I uploaded a photo of Annie's headstone today. I thought you might be interested in knowing that the Coffey County Library's cemetery book for Lincoln Cemetery says her name is Dorcas Anna Baxter.

I suspect that cemetery for Robert Mann has several names and if you look in Grace Lawn Cem., Howard, Elk Co., Kansas you will find a memorial for him along with a photo of his gravestone. I also am related to some of the Manns in Kansas.

OK, thanks, and it seems there were no children produced from that marriage. Mrs.Joe Keller was born much later.

Hi, in researching my own family tree I have come across the marriage of Mildred Ione Baxter to my great uncle James Hamilton Nearns, in Carthage MO in 1908. He would have been husband number 1, before Bradford. I wondered if you had any information on this marriage. I have not been able to find them in the 1910 census so far.

I went to photograph her monument today and the cemetery office told me that she does not have a marker.
Her burial location is: Block 4, Lot 35, Space 6
Cemetery notes: Placed here by Ladies Aid Society as she was a pauper.
