RE: Sullivans
Hello Trish, I can't tell you how happy I am to have found you. First of all, I have sad news: My mom passed away on July 1st. My brothers, sister and I are having a terrible time trying to deal with it. She spoke often of our family in Fairbanks. I have very fond memories of Aunt Jessie and Uncle Sam. They would come to visit from Boston when I was a child and they always spoiled me. The family bible is still in mom's attic. I remember going thru it is a teenager. It is extremely fragile. I remember there being pictures in it,some were on tin. I will have my brother Bill go to the house and get it. I know it will be safe in his care. I also found a very old picture in with more current pictures. I would say from the late 1800's - early 1900's but have no idea who it is. The name of the photographer is on the cover: it is Frank Reeve, Lark Hill House, 160 St. Georges Rd. Bolton. I googled it and it is in England. It may be a picture from the Greenhalgh side, not sure. I would like to give you my and my brother Bill's email addresses: mine is; I will send you my brother's thru private email. I look forward to hearing from you.

Your cousin, Cheryl

Hello Trish, I found this link by researching my great grandfather on my mothers side. His name is James A. Sullivan. I knew, when i saw the picture of him, that it was my great grandfather. His daughter, Ellen (Nellie)Sullivan Greenhalgh is my grandmother. My mother Edith (Pat) Mitchell traveled to Fairbanks to see her cousins about 10 years ago. I am so hoping I have the correct person here. I think you have been in touch with my cousin Andrew Davis? Please let me know if I have the correct person.
Thank you
Cheryl Mitchell Gillespie

RE: Norma June Vallier/ Osbourn
Yes I found an Aunt who is a member of Ancestry.Com She is my mothers younger sister about 10 years older than me. I found my older brother Robert who I never knew about before we have had much communication. I would like to find out who Mrs. Jay Bly from Anchorage 1959 is. She was listed in my mother's obit as her mother. Im thinking maybe she was a mother in law. I have a copy of moms death certificate that Robert got for us. Thanks for any help.

I have been an orphan for over 50n years now and would love to know more about where I came from.

RE: David Choate
Good morning. I understand about health and not being able to walk cemeteries. Yes, David was from a very interesting family on both sides. His father, Gabriel Choate Sr was a former Texas Ranger, served in the Spanish-American War and one other. David was 1 of 10 children born.

His mother was also from a very famous Rainbolt family, especially her dad, brothers, Peter Allen (my connection) and brother Liberty. Others were also famous in their own rights.

I tried Family this AM to see if they Alaska death certificates but didn't find one. Is there a way that you search old obituaries, etc. Still working on his wife's info, not sure where & when she died, when I find out will either set up or let Rob. I may request a transfer from him, but will wait until I get more information. Have a great day - Sue Rainbolt Armstrong

I have sent some of this info to the contributor to be added to his page. I noticed on his bio that you had also sent him the same info you sent me. Are you related? I have also been contacted by a photographer telling me about the snow on the ground, I may have to take my request off, but I have no idea when the warmer weather comes to that area. Thank you for contacting me. - Sue Armstrong

I went to the cemetery last weekend in attempt to fulfill your request however, the office was extremely busy and I was unable to get in. If you call them and get the exact grave/plot number and location I will be able to easily fulfill your request. Please add the info. to the memorial, along with any other individuals within the same cemetery you'd like pics of and I'd be happy to go back. :)

RE: Rappolt Graves

There is definitely no additional grave or headstone anywhere in the vicinity of Henry. We also looked on the directory and could not even find Henry's name there. If Martha is buried next to him, it has to be in an unmarked grave. I'm sorry that I was unable to track her down for you.

I am pretty sure I'll be back to Fairbanks in August. I'll be sure to look for Martha then.

RE: Edgar Rappalt

Thank you for correcting that. Funny enough so many of the memorials in Clay St. were uploaded by Rob Minteer that I assumed my message was going off to him. I was all confused when you responded.

If I have my bearings right, I photographed the southeast corner of the cemetery. There are a lot of catholic burials there. I'm not sure what that section is named.

My hope is that I will be back in Fairbanks in August to photo the rest of the cemetery.

RE: Moses Stanton

I am in town to do work for the Pogo gold mine out by Delta Junction. Whenever I travel on business I make a point of knowing what cemeteries are close. I visited Clay St. this past winter, but didn't realize the majority of the headstones were flat. So when I knew I was coming up here this week I was sure to have my camera ready. I managed to get about 1/4 of the cemetery photographed and hope to get more done (and uploaded) next weekend. I was also in Nenana today and photo'd most of the South cemetery. But I'm seeing that someone has created a duplicate Nenana cemtery just recently and I'm hoping that can be sorted out before I upload those pics.
