Hi!
Hi Paula! I saw once where you posted a message about Rev. Harry W. Whetsel Sr.
If you are a granddaughter somewhere down the line, then we are related. Would love to talk!
I am very interested in researching my family!

I'm glad you don't mind it being posted on his page. I think it looks better with the goodwill price tag removed.

Eual Whiteman Purple Heart
Hi, this is Aubre (Night Angel).

I found your name while looking for Eual's memorial because of a Facebook post I found about the Purple Heart. I don't know the person who posted it but she said it was at a Goodwill store for $4.99. I also don't know where she is, but here's the name and link I found it under if you are interested:

Actually you are connected to my wife. Her most immediate lines are Adkins, St. John, Wagaman, and Flake. We are always happy to share data and sources.

Re. Henry Stine, my wife, is also his 3rd great granddaughter. Margaret Stine married Joshua Wagaman. Charles Wagaman married Barbara Flake. Grace Wagaman married Lonnie St.John. Mildred St. John married Clyde Adkins. Joyce Adkins married me. We could swap data if you write to jnjkelly@concast.net. Sorry about the confusion since Henry's stone has two dates.

Sorry for the preceding comment concerning Feb vs Oct. for Henry's death date. I see that the stone has both months so a death certificate is required.

Careful examination of the photo of Henry Stines' gravestone shows that death occurred in October rather than February.

hey!
Hey Paula, I am sorry I have not caught up with you, I see you have a yahoo account, do you happen to have messenger? If you do, I have an account and I get on there a lot, if not, we can try the FB, I'd really like to get to know you, seems like we have some things in common and you got a great knowledge of Grandpa John's side of the family (great grandpa Larry's son) and OH also, I talked to that Brian Wagaman, he seems like a nice enough guy, big cat lover (like me) tall skinny dude like me too, lol.

No direction lol as yet they are not on my tree right now but I can tell you that the area they are in some of the Wetzel/Whetsels/Whetzels are Our family but many of them come from Capt. John's Family that we are not documentated as being related..but like Jacob Wetzel at Jacob's Trace..they all traveled to the same places that Our family traveled because of the Glass Industry..follow the River and you will find them. xoxo Glad you are excited..need to take another trip to see you..and drive you around everywhere again..;.]

No I don't know how he passed the only way we would know is if there is a Death Certificate. Probably would be easier to find out if we knew his middle name Elmer E. Whetsel. Rae

Paula,

I always welcome additional information or corrections for ANY of the memorials I have on Find A Grave, so don't hesitate to let me know if you come up with something. You never know what little tidbit might prove to be the key that eventually unlocks the door.

My cousins who are working on the Wagamans go by the names Carolina Grave Hunter and Heartsong on Find A Grave. You may have seen some of their great work and/or pictures while looking at family memorials. I know they're both always open to new information as well.

Good luck with your research!

RE: John Wagaman
Hi Paula,

A couple of cousins and I are still working away on the Wagamans, but no news as to where John is buried. If you check out the descendants on Find A Grave, you may notice that the branches of this tree are a lot fuller than they used to be.

Even though it doesn't look too promising, you never know. Maybe the burial information will turn up when we least expect it!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

I recently reconnected with Holly on Facebook. I had lost contact with her in our Junior year in high school and was happy to find her again. We talk on occasion but her "interests" have me perplexed. I would rather not say in a public setting what they are. She always talked about her dad but has never mentioned her mother or brothers. I know their home life was a bit unorthodox when I would go over there on weekends. She's a good girl but a bit mixed up about life.
