Wll Duh--you already own this record! I just assumed that since I have entered more than 15,000 people for this cem, this one was mine too! I won't be so presumptuous the next time! Janis

RE: Memorial # 28913981
I love helping people find their people! This is why I have spent countless hours entering records :) I found your ggg gma's marker in Public Lot 5 Row 9 Grave 19. This is the section across the back of the cemetery between Missouri and Riverview. I am not surprised the office couldn't find an interment card. Many of those in the public lots have sketchy records. In addition to entering records from our logs (I am a funeral director in that building), I am also walking from grave to grave shooting stones which is how I got your gma. If you want to come up to the office when I am there, shoot me an e-mail in advance and I will search with you. I have had several people come in with my Find A Grave screenprints who need help locating. I will transfer her record to you so you can add any info. you have. Glad to help! Janis

I was curious whether we were related because it seemed to have so much info. Did you get it all from family or public type records? I'm new on the sight and any advise would be great. My mother is patricia spellbrink and i can remember as a kid visiting uncle bob and aunt bonnie. Thank you.

Non-Denominational 19,997 Burials
St. Marcus (Old) Cemetery was formerly at 6638 Gravois at the intersection of Gravois and Loughborough, which is now a St. Louis
City park. The Old St. Marcus was founded in 1856. Most of the bodies were moved to the new St. Marcus Cemetery in 1962 with a few stones remaining. Some bodies were moved to Sunset Memorial Park after 1922.

NOTE: Find A Grave volunteer 'Eddie' and I have photographed the remaining markers in Old Saint Marcus Cem. and added them to Find A Grave. There are no other markers surviving in the Old Saint Marcus Cemetery city park. I suspect that both of the above bodies were moved to the NEW St. Marcus Cem. (I have no resources that would prove this however.)
