Powell stone transfers
Hi Karin. There is one other grave in the Steckley that the Sandusky, Michigan library has posted as Powell?? It is said to be the Powell house keeper but has no marker. I didn't transfer it in case you didn't want it. Let me know if you want her.

Paul Johnson
Elijah Spratt Descendant
Hello Karin,

Elijah is my 4thG Grandfather on my Fathers maternal side.

I've been linking the Spratts buried mainly in Platte County, MO that are in my line. It appears as if at least two or three VA Spratt's moved to this region.

I wanted to say hello and I appreciate this "cousin" area. This is the first I've seen of this. So hopefully, after the Admin's approve all of my edits we'll see a few more cousins show up.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

Regards-
Paul Johnson

RE: Thomas Hays & Rebecca Padgett
Karin I totally agree. I am doing research into my Thomas Hays and Rebecca Padgett. I am hoping to prove or disprove it one way or the other. I will be back with you if I find any smoking guns lol. But I apologize for assuming mine was the correct one.If my Thomas turns out to be the wrong Thomas I shall be the first to admit it. I just want us all to have the correct parents and wife and all for our ancestors ;) you can email me at ericksonkellea@gmail.com if you like.

He isnt buried in two different places. If you would like I can email you all the proof you need.
This is my ancestor Thomas Hays and his wife Rebecca Padgett:

Name Thomas Hayes
Gender Male
Marriage Date 9 Sep 1784
Spouse Rebecca Padget
Spouse Gender Male
County Prince George's County

The Rebecca Padgett above born abt 1760 Prince Georges County, MD was the daughter of John Padgett and Elizabeth Ward. Elizabeth Padgett died 1778 in Prince George's County Maryland. and her son Hezekiah named Rebecca Padgett as one of her children in Elizabeth's probate records there that you may find on familysearch.org.
This is why my Thomas Hayes & Rebecca Padgett Hayes name their son John Ward Hays. Who is buried with his father Thomas Hays in Logan County OH.Also Rebecca had a brother named William Ward Padgett.

Thomas Hays & Rebecca Padgett Hays moved from Maryland to Logan County Ohio Where Thomas died.
Thomas left a Will in Logan County, Ohio 1832.
Furthermore Jeremiah Hays in Montgomery Co MD left a will naming Thomas Hays as his son.
Do have wills on your Thomas??

RE: John Edward Tice
You are so welcome. I'm just glad it was a legible headstone. Many in this cemetery were not. This cemetery is near a friends home, so I stopped on my way to visit.

Jacob Hill photo request.
I claimed your photo request for Jacob Hill #87775960 in New Lebanon Cemetery, Columbiana County, Ohio. I traveled through that area last week and carefully looked at all of the readable monuments in the cemetery. I did not find the monument that you requested. I did see the monument for his wife Nancy and would expect that Jacob was buried in the empty spot next to his wife. I took a photo of Nancy's gravestone along with the empty spot. If you like I will post it. I have done that for some of my relatives when I know the location of their grave without a marker. If you don't want the photo posted, I will remove my claim on your photo request.

RE: Thomas Napper Quinton, 22574282
Hi Karin,

Thank you for your timely response. And thank you for the offer but I am happy for you to continue ownership of this memorial and am very appreciative of your work here.

I have seen these census records that show his birth as:
1900 census: Jan 1858, Alabama
1910 census: 1860, Alabama
1940 census: 1857, Alabama, age 83

I was just curious if a source record is known for the more specific information, e.g., birth on 8 January, the year 1859, and in Barbour?

Best,
Larry

Thomas Napper Quinton, 22574282
Hi Karin,

Thomas Napper Quinton is my great grandfather. I was pleased to learn about the FindaGrave record that you created for him, Find A Grave Memorial# 22574282, in 2007.

Birth: Jan. 8, 1859
Barbour County
Alabama, USA

All I had before was:
Birth
8 Jan 1857
,, AL

But the photo you provided shows his birth as 1853 on his headstone.

Can you tell me the source for the birth information you have and why it has a different year from the headstone?

Thank you!
Larry Allen

Airey Neave
I've revised my bio of Airey Neave on Findagrave.com, still hoping to satisfy the unwritten rules, and once again submitted an application for their "famous" designation. Most grateful if you're able to take a look and cast a vote! Maybe this time he'll make it.
