RE: Malcolm Campbell
Thanks. I'll try to connect with Dale the next time I'm in Jackson - probably within the next few weeks.

My paternal grandfather and grandmother Collins' farm was close to New Hope - off Sawyer Road. I never knew either of them, as they both died before I was born, but I have fond memories of going to the old homeplace and picking muscadines and roaming up and down the hills. I have a few pictures of the old homeplace at There is also family lineage that was done by my cousin in Florida that will link all of us together. It's located at: It looks like the first mention of Campbell in our line (according to the lineage) is at # 185, which shows:

185. JOHN SIMPSON9 BLAYLOCK (MARY ELIZABETH8 COLLINS, WILLIAM WINWRIGHT7, JAMES COLLINS6 "ELDER",JOHN COLLINS5 * III, THOMAS4 COLLINS, WILLIAM3, JOHN *2, JOHN *1) was born February 17, 1846 in Middleton,Carroll County, Mississippi, and died December 25, 1919 in Winona, Montgomery County, Mississippi. He
married MATILDA JANE JOINER 1868, daughter of JOSEPH JOINER and DELIANA CAMPBELL. She was born
February 07, 1848 in Winona, Montgomery County, Mississippi, and died October 23, 1933 in Duck Hill,Montgomery County, Mississippi.

I will have to do some more checking. The info you are searching for might be in that list, as well. I completely forgot about it being there.

I will be in Jackson for a doctor visit today, but don't know if I will be able to stop by Mid-State Glass due to time constraints. What is your brother's name? I'll be sure to ask for him when I do get to go by.

Please keep in contact.

Hi Carl,

Portia would be the one that would know more about the Campbell line, since she has added a lot of Campbells in the Montgomery County cemeteries (Hebron, Oakwood, New Hope, Evergreen) and, if I remember correctly, Carroll Co, (Longview, etc.) as well.

You also might want to check with Beth Austin and Sally Bennett. They are all on my friend list on my Findagrave Bio Page. Since I no longer live in the Carroll/Montgomery County areas, they would have access to the cemeteries easier than I would.

I wish you luck in your searches. I found out through Portia that I am a distant relative to the Campbells, as well.

Hi, Carl -- I started adding the info you sent me to Henry Roark's page, but it occurred to me that surely you would prefer to be able to edit the page yourself. So I just transferred it to you.

Carl, I transferred your grandfather's memorial to you so you can edit as you please. I would certainly want my grandfather's memorial. Thanks.

Hi Carl,

I changed what I could. Portia will have to change the rest.

Hope this helps.

You're's a small world.
